It will be difficult for Terrifier 4 to live up to some of the best scenes in Terrifier 3. Damian Leone's third Terrifier movie has some major differences when compared to the first two entries in the series. All the Terrifier movies are set on holidays, but Terrifier 3 is the first film not to take place on Halloween night. Instead, Art the Clown dresses up as Santa Claus to go on his bloodiest killing spree yet, just in time for Christmas.

The story of Terrifier 3 takes place five years after the ending of Terrifier 2, but the newest film in the horror series includes many characters from the previous entry. The cast of Terrifier 3 includes David Howard Thornton, Lauren LaVera, Elliot Fullman, and Samantha Scaffifdi. After a five-year hibernation, Art the Clown returns in Terrifier 3 to hunt down Sierra Shaw. However, before he reaches her at the end of Terrifier 3, the sinister Art torments another girl and her family.

Terrifier 3 Has The Nastiest Opening Scene In The Franchise

Art The Clown Brutally Murders A Family While Dressed As Santa

The opening scene in the first Terrifier movie featured Vicky murdering an interviewer, and Terrifier 2's opening scene saw Art brutally killing a doctor. However, the opening scene in Terrifier 3 is by far the most memorable of the franchise. At the beginning of Terrifier 3, a little girl wakes up to a noise, believing that Santa Claus is on the roof of her home. The child wanders through her house, and even temporarily wakes up her mother, before she finally sees Santa in front of their Christmas tree.

Of course, Santa is actually Art the Clown, who proceeds to brutally murder the members of the family with an axe. Terrifier 3's opening kill sequence allows the audience to sympathize with the family so much more than the reporter and doctor in the first two films, and even provides hope that the little girl might survive. However, at the very end of the sequence, after Art thinks he's killed everyone in the house, he finds the girl hiding. This opening scene set the stage for the horrifying events of Terrifier 3, and immediately proved that no one would be safe from Art the Clown.

Terrifier 4 Will Have To Try And Top Terrifier 3's Opening Scene - But Can It?

Terrifier 3's Opening Scene Upset Many Moviegoers

Upon the film's release, Terrifier 3's opening scene became very controversial and prompted many moviegoers to throw up, and even walk out of the movie. While none of the children's deaths in the opening of Terrifier 3 are shown onscreen, some viewers were very upset that kids were killed in the movie. Therefore, for better or worse, Terrifier 3's opening scene will remain memorable due to the impact it had on audience members.

At the end of Terrifier 3 , Art is still on the loose, and it is even teased that Sierra will travel to Hell in Terrifier 4 .

Since Terrifier 3's opening sequence raised the stakes from the openers of the first two movies, Damian Leone will have to try to include an even more horrifying opening in Terrifier 4. While Art the Clown dressing as Santa and killing an entire family will not be forgotten about anytime soon, Terrifier 3's loose plot threads prove that Terrifier 4 can indeed raise the stakes even more. At the end of Terrifier 3, Art is still on the loose, and it is even teased that Sierra will travel to Hell in Terrifier 4. Therefore, the fourth film can absolutely find a way to top the opening scene of Terrifier 3.
