Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans breaks down in tears as she reveals she can't walk amid rare diagnosis: 'So hopeless'

Jenelle Evans has broken down in tears documenting her ‘excruciating’ journey after undergoing knee surgery and warning fans that she could end up paralyzed.

The Teen Mom star opened up about the ordeal in a video posted to Instagram Monday, revealing that she can barely walk due to spinal cysts and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, a rare chronic pain condition that usually causes severe, burning pain in an arm or a leg long after an initial injury or surgery.

In the video, the 34-year-old says she underwent surgery in April this year, following a knee injury.

However, the surgery triggered pain that was significantly more intense. 

‘I noticed my leg was not getting better, and I was later diagnosed with CRPS,’ she shared in the clip posted online.

Evans told followers that after visiting a pain management clinic and receiving a steroid shot, her symptoms got even worse.

Now she’s left with excruciating pain in her back.

‘My neck’s hurting. I am literally in pain from the base of my skull to my tailbone,' the mom-of-three said. ‘And it is every single day, every day, on top of my leg pain.

Evans added that she’s dealing with the growth of a syrinx filled with cerebrospinal fluid, from two millimeters to four millimeters, on her spine.

She detailed how she’s currently dealing with ‘so much pain.’

‘I’m in pain if I sit up, lie down. If I lie down, I have an extreme headache in the back of my skull,’ she said. ‘I still cannot walk on my leg and it keeps flaring up.’

Evans, who appeared on Teen Mom 2 after welcoming son Jace with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis in August of 2009, is also being frank about the toll it's taken on her mental health.

The TV personality is also mom to Kaiser Orion Griffith, 12, with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith; and daughter Ensley Jolie Eason, nine, with ex-husband David Eason.

Evans explained that she has also been seeing a psychotherapist as a result of ‘feeling so hopeless lately’ but assured fans she won’t ‘do anything’ to harm herself.

‘I am literally watching everyone’s lives go past,’ she cried. ‘And I am watching everybody having a great summer, great holidays, Labor Day weekend, and I am stuck in the house, and if I try to leave, I am in too much pain.’

The brunette revealed her plight as she filmed herself styling her hair.

She clarified that while she’s spending most of her time indoors, she was determined to look good for a pain management appointment she had coming up.

To make matters worse, her condition has caused skin sensitivity so bad that it hurts when Evans takes a shower.

‘If I take a shower, the droplets of the shower hitting my legs make it inflamed, and I’m literally crying, and it hurts my back,’ she explained.

‘This is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.’
