Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
Taylor Sheridan isn’t slowing down anytime soon. But why would he? The world's busiest man doesn't need sleep, and neither do we.
As Season 3 of Lioness ramps up production, the hit espionage thriller is officially taking over downtown Fort Worth. The Paramount+ series is currently filming scenes at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse (812 Main St.), with West Eighth Street between Houston and Main closed through Thursday at 4 p.m. to accommodate the production crew. Fort Worth police are on-site managing traffic as cameras roll.
Sheridan has become one of television’s most dominant forces, shaping Paramount’s slate with series like Yellowstone, Landman, and 1883. But Lioness — his female-led espionage drama — has quietly built its own loyal following since launching in July 2023.
The Season 2 finale aired on December 8, 2024, and production on Season 3 began soon after its renewal. In recent weeks, the show has been casting extras across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, seeking military brass and FBI agents for upcoming scenes. James Jordan, who plays Two Cups, teased what’s ahead for Season 3, saying:
“The writing just gets deeper and deeper, and I think that's what audiences want. They're introduced to a character, now they want to see what's under the skin of that character, what really makes him tick. And Taylor being an actor himself, I think he wants to investigate character. He doesn't care much about plot, neither do we. We want to know what makes these folks tick, and audiences do too, and that's what keeps them coming back, I think. So, we're excited to explore that as well.”
Is 'Lioness' Worth Watching?
Collider’s review, by Michael John Petty, stated that Lioness Season 2 justified its own existence more than expected, even if it didn’t quite match the self-contained power of the first installment. After Season 1 ended on an emotionally devastating note for Joe (Zoe Saldaña), the new season expanded the scope of the narrative while doubling down on the show’s core tension: the impossible balance between duty to country and duty to family.
Lioness is based on the real-life team, after all, and while the series differs from the true story, its commitment to examining the genuine psychological effects of these operations is both admirable and daunting. As civilians, it can be challenging to try to understand the sorts of hardships those in the U.S. Armed Forces face, and Lioness does its best to show how all of that plays out — both in the field and off it. Season 2 is certainly a step in the right direction for this series and leads us to hope Sheridan will pursue more thriller projects in the future.
