Taye Diggs is returning to the screen as a man who has sworn off marriage until his mind is changed after meeting the perfect woman.
The one problem? Little does he know, she has a dark side.
Forever, This Ring, the latest film from director Chris Stokes, sees Diggs, 55, play Maverick, a wealthy magazine CEO who falls for a woman named Faith (Erica Mena).
La'Myia Good, 47, also appears in the film as Kiana, an assistant who has a soft spot for Maverick.
Maverick's initial commitment to the single life serves as a contrast to Diggs, who, in his mid-fifties, is looking for love.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Diggs declared that he's open to another relationship following a string of headline hitting romances, including a marriage to Broadway legend Idina Menzel that ended in 2013.
'This is way too much information, but I went back to therapy,' Diggs stated during the Daily Mail sit-down with Good. 'I gotta get to work, so I'm kind of taking a step back and digging up and unpacking and whatnot, so still looking!'
Taye Diggs and his Forever, This Ring co-star La'Myia Good sat down for an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail
In Forever, This Ring, Diggs plays the ultimate bachelor who meets the perfect woman (played by Erica Mena, pictured) - but unbeknownst to him, she has a dark side
'I gotta get my myself in order first,' he added.
Diggs was married to Menzel for a decade. They share a son, Walker, who is now 17.
The former couple fell in love while starring in Broadway's Rent as Maureen Johnson and Benjamin 'Benny' Coffin III back in 1995.
They tied the knot in December 2003 in Jamaica and were married for 10 years until their shock split. .
The separation was announced in 2013, in a statement with People which read: 'Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time.
'Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time.'
Diggs filed the papers in 2014 and the divorce was finalized a year later.
In later years, Diggs was in a relationship with TV presenter Apryl Jones, but they went their separate ways after a year together.
Filming Forever, This Ring, which is now streaming, was a 'wild' ride for the Hollywood legend, who has starred in hit films such as The Best Man and How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

La'Myia Good plays Maverick's assistant, a hard-working and dedicated employee with a soft spot for her boss
'It's wild, and I haven't gotten an opportunity to play roles like this for a while, which is which is why, you know, whenever Chris Stokes calls, I know it's going to be exciting. I know it's going to be out there.
'I know it's going to be pushing boundaries, you know, making choices on the spot. He shoots very quickly, ' he said. 'Beautifully, but very quickly.'
'It's almost like a training camp, almost,' he said. 'Really big emotions. It's definitely a style that is a lot of fun, but also, you know, taxing.'
Good said filming put them in 'the trenches' in a way that allowed for the creation of 'beautiful, raw footage.'
Diggs told the Daily Mail he returned to therapy in order to welcome love back into his life
'But we get to play, and I think that's a spot that's kind of missing,' Good added, describing working with the director as 'training camp.'
'You're on the spot and you're in the trenches and you work it out, and that's I think why we get such beautiful raw footage,' Good said.
Diggs is indeed getting into the 'trenches' of filmmaking nowadays, stepping out from in front of the camera to a whole new role.
The cinema legend is getting into the vertical drama business with the launch of Microhouse Films, a mobile-first streaming platform for short-form serialized stories.
Bite-sized vertical dramas are shows filmed vertically in order to be watched on a phone and are much shorter in length compared to a typical 30-minute television program, with episodes lasting two-minutes long.
It marks a departure for Diggs, who is ready to get out of his 'comfort zone.'
Diggs said shooting the movie under Chris Stokes' direction was 'almost like a training camp'
Forever, This Ring also stars acting legend Loretta Devine
'I love when you're in a position where you can do. Because I'm usually not that guy. I'm used to kind of just coasting, give me the role, tell me how to do it, and I'll wait.
'But this is really exciting being a part of something new and allowing myself to kind of step outside of the comfort zone, and let's see if this audience will go for this,' Taye said, listing musicals and reality as possible genres.
Good thinks the style may be here to stay and sees opportunity in striking while the iron is hot.
'They're definitely not going away,' she said. 'I think it's more about innovation and you know, obviously in this entertainment field, things come and go, and you have to maximize off the moment. And not only that, I think the biggest thing is being a trailblazer, figuring out how you can make that space authentic to you and your craft.'
An accomplished actress, Good has been honing her own craft for decades and with the help of another famous star, her own sister, Meagan Good.
Mena plays the beautiful woman Maverick falls for and who gets him to change his bachelor ways
'You know whenever [Forever, This Ring director] Chris Stokes calls, I know it's going to be exciting,' Diggs told the Daily Mail
The film also stars actor Marques Houston
Good called being able to navigate Hollywood alongside her sister 'a gift.'
'I think we have a gift to be able to do this together because you know how this industry is,' she said. 'It can be a lot of things, and I think to have somebody super close to you and be able to take this journey with you.... It's added another layer to our relationship for sure.
'She's there for me in times that just other people can't explain, can't understand. So it's just like a gift. I got a built-in gift, you know, with her and us being in the same field, and you know, it's a blessing.'
Good attributes their upbringing to keeping them humble.
Asked if having her sister in the industry kept her on the straight and narrow, Good said she wouldn't really consider herself the 'straight and narrow' one of the siblings – but attributed their grounded attitude to their upbringing.
The cast celebrated the film's premiere last week at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood
La'Myia was supported at the premiere by her famous sister, Meagan Good
'My mom really did a great job of making it clear to us, even at a young age, that this is just something we do. Doesn't define us. It's not who we are, and everything about how we treat people, everything about how we show up in this world, that defines who we are,' she said.
As for Diggs, one feature he is defined for outside of his accomplished acting career is his handsome, youthful looks.
'No secrets. I'm Black,' Diggs said when asked about the secrets behind his youthful appearance.
'You know, you heard the term. Black don't crack!' Good chimed in.
'It's that simple!' he said. 'I should look a lot older than I do, based on my behavior,' he said. 'But now I'm starting to realize it and take a little bit better care of myself.'
