Tarek El Moussa hints at 'feud' between him and ex Christina Haack... as he teases future with HGTV after show was canceled

Tarek El Moussa and his ex-wife Christina Haack appeared to have put their bitter divorce behind them, surprising fans as they developed an unexpectedly close relationship in recent years.

The relationship they now boast on social media is a far cry from when Tarek, 45, and Haack, 43, filmed season one of HGTV's The Flip Off together in 2024 - six years after their divorce was finalized.

Haack has even admitted to having a 'close' bond with Tarek's wife, Heather El Moussa, 39. The women often coordinate matching outfits, and joke about how they borrow clothing from each other's wardrobe.

Now, gearing up to release season two, Tarek has hinted that there might've been some tension on set.

Haack's boyfriend of two years, Christopher Larocca, appears on the upcoming season after making a brief appearance in season one. She recently praised him for sticking by her side through filming, especially when she was 'really stressed and totally losing my mind.'

When asked about Haack and Larocca's relationship on the red carpet, Tarek and Heather - who are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary later this month - appeared to hint that tensions may be brewing between Tarek and his ex-wife.

Tarek revealed whose side he's taking if Haack, his ex-wife, were to break up with her current boyfriend, Christopher Larocca (Tarek and Haack are pictured in 2016)

'If they do break up, I'm going with him,' Tarek told the Daily Mail this week at Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea Awards' red carpet of whose side he would take in a split.

When asked what he likes about the 53-year-old businessman his ex-wife is dating, Tarek explained, 'Honestly, he's an adult. He's a mature adult. I don't know what else to say.'

Heather added, 'He's a good man. He's a really good man. He's good with the kids. He's good to us. He's level headed and we have a good time together and he supports what we all do and supports Christina mostly, which is really important in a relationship.'

Tarek and Haack share joint legal and physical custody of their two children - Taylor, 16, and Brayden, 11 - following their divorce.

'I mean, I feel like they've been together about two years now and they're really happy, and they're doing really good. We love him,' Heather added.

'I feel like they're just having a really mature relationship and it's really nice to see.'

Heather, who didn't specify whose side she is on, is 'best friends' with Haack, according to Tarek.

The real estate investor dished, 'We started off working together and then, you know, [Haack and Heather's] friendship, it grew and now they're like best friends.'

Tarek said that 'maybe' marriage could be in the future for his ex, who has been married three times. Haack was married to Tarek from 2009 to 2016, Ant Anstead from 2018 to 2021, and Josh Hall from 2021 to 2025.

'[Larocca] hasn't done anything dumb yet. So maybe,' he quipped.

Haack revealed in an interview earlier this year that marriage was 'not on my radar right now,' and said that she would need to 'be engaged for a minimum of, like, five years' before ever getting married again.

Fortunately, Larocca and Tarek are getting along - compared to his relationship with Haack's second husband, Anstead, who is also the father of her seven-year-old son, Hudson.

'I mean, ever since he burned us on season one and voted for the wrong team, we haven't really talked,' Tarek, who is also father to three-year-old son Tristan with Heather, told the Daily Mail of his relationship with Anstead.

Anstead appeared on an episode of The Flip Off last year as a guest judge, and ended up voting for Haack instead of Tarek and Heather for best home renovation during the competition.

Anstead and Haack, for their part, recently proved their years-long feud is behind them by posting sweet co-parenting tributes for their son's birthday.

As for what's in store next season, Tarek teased, 'It's a fun one. It's a s**t show.'

When asked whether Larocca and Haack are headed toward marriage, Tarek told the Daily Mail, ''He hasn't done anything dumb yet. So maybe'

Season two of The Flip Off has wrapped filming and is expected to air early next year

They recently wrapped filming, according to Heather, and she said season two is expected to air early 2027.

'I mean, we love being on HGTV and he's had about a 15-year career with them. I've now been with them for what? Five years,' the real estate agent said.

'And, you know, we're hoping to get a season three of our show. It's really good. It should air probably early next year, so we'll see. The future is bright.'

Last year, it was announced that Tarek and Heather's home renovation series, The Flipping El Moussas, was canceled after two seasons during a major network overhaul. Haack's show, Christina on the Coast, was also axed.

Tarek, known as the King of HGTV, and Haack were the original stars of HGTV's Flip or Flop, which premiered in 2013 and lasted for a whopping 10 seasons - with the last episode airing in March 2022. The series followed the real estate and design duo as they flipped houses throughout Orange County, California.

The competition show The Flip Off, which was confirmed for a second season in August of last year, tasks the exes with finding, buying, renovating and selling a home, as they battle for the highest return on investment.

Tarek also opened up about the hit the real estate industry has taken recently, noting that the interest rates are the 'highest in three years,' and that overall, the industry is 'very sleepy.'

Not giving up hope, Heather shared, 'I mean, he buys houses all over the country - people that are in distress and need to get out of their properties. So he's here to help people, and so he buys houses all over the country.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to Haack's rep for comment.
