Super Bowl 2025: Patrick Mahomes Breaks Silence on Chiefs’ Loss

And while playing in the big game is important to Patrick—who shares three kids Sterling, 3, Bronze, 2, and newborn Golden with wife Brittany Mahomes—it isn’t everything.

“It’s not about football,” he said at a Feb. 3 press conference. “It’s giving glory to God for being able to walk around, to live my life, to have a beautiful family, to be able to have impact on others. And I'm gonna use this stage and that platform, win or lose, to give glory back to him.”

Though Patrick’s spirituality is his ultimate aim, he certainly geared up for Super Bowl LIX by encouraging the Chiefs to stay mentally focused on the field.

“It’s just preparation and relying on your teammates,” he continued. “You don’t make the game bigger than what it is. You prepare for these moments your entire life and your teammates do the same and whenever you put all that work in together, you can go out there and do special things.”

He added, “That’s what we do, we continue to work and don’t make it bigger than what it is. Just play our best at the best moments.”

And no matter the outcome of his games, Patrick has the unwavering support of one superfan in his corner: his wife Brittany.

“Here we go again,” she wrote in a Jan. 28 Instagram post after the Chiefs’ clinched their Super Bowl berth with a victory over the Buffalo Bills, “so proud of you.”

Thet 29-year-old also touted her husband’s hard work and dedication after last year’s Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

“This guy never stopped believing in his team,” she wrote on Instagram in February 2024. “Through the ups and downs and all the doubters, never once did he doubt this team. He is a true leader and a team player.”

She added, “He continued to ask himself what he could do better to lead this team to the Super Bowl. I saw so much behind the scenes that I will forever be in awe of you as a person and a football player!

Brittany ended her praise with a heart emoji, saying, “I love you and am always and forever proud of you.”
