It's almost that time of year again. Summer Game Fest 2026 kicks off tomorrow with host Geoff Keighley, a number of livestreams, and tons of game announcements and premieres. It's an exciting time for video games, and the full event will run across four days this year. If you're looking to get a head start on SGF preparation, then ScreenRant has you covered.
This year's event kicks off later this week, and the official channel of The Game Awards has already shared a new teaser for Summer Game Fest 2026, along with a few teases of what viewers can expect to see during the Opening Night ceremonies. We also have all the details on start times, dates of specific streams, and other information regarding one of video games' biggest nights.
When Is Summer Game Fest 2026?
Start Date & Times
Summer Game Fest 2026 runs from June 5–June 8, 2026. The multi-day event will include livestreams from Xbox and other developers, as well as showcases for indie titles, PC games, and more. The biggest event of SGF is typically the Opening Night Live broadcast hosted by Geoff Keighley, which is on June 5 and starts at 5 pm ET.
The Access-Ability Summer Showcase is the first broadcast, kicking everything off on June at 8am PT/ 11 am ET, followed by the Opening Night showcase a few hours later. Right now, the final stream will be for The Game Business - Live! on June 8, which will follow the XBOX Games Showcase and the PC Games Show that are both scheduled for earlier that same day.
When Is SGF 2026 Opening Night Live?
All Start Times For Opening Night Showcase
The Opening Showcase, or Opening Night Live, for Summer Game Fest kicks off on June 5, 2026. This is where the biggest announcements will take place, and where host Geoff Keighley will get things started with new game announcements, big reveals, new trailers, and (if previous years are any indication) shadow drops. If you can only tune into one event for SGF, this is the one to watch.
Summer Game Fest's Opening Night stream begins at 2pm PT/ 5pm ET/10pm BST on June 5. Previous years' broadcasts have run for two hours or slightly more, so expect a similar runtime for this year's show. A trailer for the event can be viewed above.
All Summer Game Fest 2026 Livestreams
Every Confirmed Showcase So Far
The usual livestreams for SGF will once again be taking place this year. Broadcasts like the Xbox Games Showcase and the Wholesome Direct are typically some of the biggest ones to watch if you're looking for new reveals outside Opening Night Live. The lineup for Summer Game Fest 2026 so far looks like this:
- June 5 - Access-Ability Summer Showcase, 8am PT/11am ET/4pm BST
- June 5 — Opening Night Live, 2pm PT, 5pm ET, 10pm BST
- June 5 — Day of the Devs, TBD
- June 6 - Wholesome Direct, 9am PT/ 12pm ET/5pm BST
- June 6 - Future Games Show, 12pm PT/ 3pm ET/ 8pm BST
- June 7 - Xbox Games Showcase, 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 6pm BST
- June 7 - PC Games Show, TBD, following Xbox Games Showcase
- June 8 — The Game Business, TBD, following PC Games Show
Day of the Devs typically runs after Opening Night Live, even though a time hasn't been set. Considering Opening Night Live should run for around 2 hours, we expect Day of the Devs to kick off around 5pm PT/7pm ET. As for the other streams that are still TBD, they'll run one after another on Sunday. It's really just a matter of when broadcasts end.
How To Watch Summer Game Fest 2026
YouTube, Twitch, & More
While various outlets and streamers will be hosting their own streams of Summer Game Fest 2026, you'll be able to watch at the official YouTube and Twitch channels for The Game Awards. You can find those links here:
In our experience, Twitch typically runs a bit ahead, so if you want to be the first to see the new games, you may want to watch there instead of on YouTube, which usually has a delay of around 30 seconds. TGA 2025 also aired on Amazon Prime Video live, although we haven't heard yet whether SGF 2026 will be doing that or not.
We'll continue to update this post as more information becomes available. ScreenRant will also be covering the various streams and announcements as they air, so if you can't watch the livestream, you can follow along with us here. You can also read more about the events over on the official Summer Game Fest website. In the meantime, the countdown for Summer Game Fest 2026 is on.
