Steven Spielberg has become one of the rare few to achieve the elusive EGOT.

On Sunday, the screenwriter, director and producer was inducted into the elite cohort when he won his first Grammy Award, with the Disney+ documentary Music by John Williams he produced earning Best Music Film.

The Laurent Bouzerau-helmed doc beat out Devo, Live at the Royal Albert Hall, Relentless and Piece by Piece for the Grammy. Also included in the award are fellow producers Bouzereau, Sara Bernstein, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Meredith Kaulfers, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Justin Wilkes.

Representing the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards, few have achieved EGOT status, including Audrey Hepburn, Elton John, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Mel Brooks, Rita Moreno, Viola Davis and Whoopi Goldberg.

Spielberg has won three Academy Awards, his first being Best Picture for Schindler’s List in 1994 (he’s currently nominated for the same category for Hamnet). He has a combined 13 Emmy Awards (four Primetime), going back to 1991, as well as a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2022 for producing A Strange Loop.
