EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Dillane (The Outrun), Anya Chalotra (The Witcher), Kyle Soller (Andor), Ian Hart (The Mosquito Coast), and Niamh Algar (Raised by Wolves) have signed on to star alongside Idris Elba, Ruth Wilson, and Dermot Crowley in the next Luther film at Netflix.

Character details are under wraps. Following up Luther: The Fallen Sun, the film’s plot is thrust into motion when a new wave of brutal, seemingly random murders hits London and DCI John Luther (Elba) is secretly called back into service. But how can he save London when everyone on all sides seems to want him dead?

Luther is a British psychological crime thriller franchise created by Neil Cross which began with an internationally popular series that ran for five seasons on the BBC between 2010 and 2019. For his work as the brilliant but deeply tormented London detective Luther, Elba won a Critics’ Choice Television Award, as well as a Golden Globe and a SAG Award.

Netflix released Luther: The Fallen Sun in limited theaters and on streaming in 2023, announcing plans for another film last fall. Franchise veteran Jamie Payne is directing from a script by Cross. Producers on the project include Chernin Entertainment, Cross, Elba and Gina Carter for 22Summers, and Tim Lewis.

Known for roles in films like Darkest Hour and series like Game of Thrones, Dillane’s recent credits include Kaos, Alex Rider, and The Outrun. He is repped by Independent Talent Group.

Best known for starring in Netflix’s The Witcher, Chalotra is repped by The Artists Partnership, CAA, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.

Recently seen starring in Disney+’s Andor, Soller’s other credits of late include Jay Kelly, Death by Lightning, and the forthcoming sixth season of Apple TV’s Slow Horses. He is repped by B-Side Management and Gersh.

Most recently seen on shows like The Mosquito Coast, Shetland and Mr Bates vs. The Post Office, Hart is repped by Artist Rights Group and Avalon Television.

A two-time BAFTA nominee known for starring in Apple’s Raised by Wolves, Algar’s recent credits include The Iris Affair, Playing Nice, and Mary & George. She is repped by Independent Talent Group, UTA, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
