There is nothing better than getting your hands on a free game, especially if that game just happens to be an underrated gem. Well, what if I told you that you could get your hands on two free games courtesy of Steam? The only catch is that you had better hurry before they head back to full price. Available for free with a promotion running from just yesterday up until 11 May, these two underrated gems are guaranteed to offer you hours of fun.

The first game up for grabs at absolutely no cost is Foundry, an open-world base-building title where you will be tasked with building a sophisticated robot factory. Set in an infinite voxel world, players will need to mine and harvest resources, automate their production lines, and manage complex systems as they manage their way to the top of the galaxy's leading robotic megacorp.

Land on an unexplored planet and design a giant automated robot production facility under the watchful direction of your AI friend, Carl. Navigate the complexities of interstellar trade and sell your products through interplanetary trade networks to reach your final goal: galactic industrial domination.

Developed by Channel 3 Entertainment, Foundry was first released back in 2024 but still sports a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam, and an influx of positive ratings is guaranteed to pique your interest even more. "Amazingly fun game," one review read. "It's so well-made, and it just keeps getting better and better with every single update. I cannot recommend this game enough." Another agreed, adding, "Honestly, Foundry is just plain fun if you’re into building and automation games. It’s got that same “just one more thing before I log off” vibe you get from games like Factorio, but what makes it stand out is the voxel world. You can dig, shape, and build however you want, which is awesome. Want your whole factory underground? Go for it. Want conveyors running all over the place above ground? That works too."

So, if you are a lover of base-building titles, you will want to check out Foundry for free up until 11 May.

The second game up for grabs for absolutely free is The Midnight Walkers, a hardcore FPS game "with deadly zombies, dangerous players, and valuable loot." It will be your job to fight, scavenge, and loot as you craft weapons, armor, and consumables and even trade valuable items to gain enough resources to maintain your hideout. In this zombie-based extraction shooter developed by Oneway Ticket Studio, survival is key but most importantly, you will need to get out with your valuable loot if you wish to thrive in a world that is trying its best to kill you.

Released back in January, The Midnight Walkers is a relatively new title, and what better way to check out how this extraction shooter fares against the rest than by checking it out for absolutely free up until 11 May.
