Star Wars fans have a ton of new projects to look forward to in the coming months, with The Mandalorian and Grogu movie set to officially release this spring and multiple other launches slated for 2026 as well.
However, Star Wars fans are getting a brand-new chapter in the saga even sooner than they expected this year, with a new standalone adventure scheduled to release on March 17 that brings back one of the franchise's most iconic characters.
Star Wars Officially Returns Next Week
Star Wars fans are finally getting an all-new release of a standalone adventure next week with the launch of Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories—Grievous from Dark Horse Comics. While originally announced for a January 2026 release, the full 88-page tale is slated to drop next week on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2026.
Hyperspace Stories—Grievous is a standalone adventure written by Michael Moreci and illustrated by Caio Filipe that follows one of Star Wars' most iconic villains, General Grievous, as he vies for control of the jungle planet of Katou. The tale was originally supposed to release early this year but faced multiple delays, but as of now appears to be good to go for launch next week.
The comic will officially be available in comic book stores and select online retailers next Tuesday, and is listed at roughly $20 USD. It's a highly anticipated new story following a fan-favorite character, and it's one every die-hard Star Wars fan will be keen to check out.
General Grievous Is Back, Finally
After multiple delays, Star Wars fans can finally check out one of the most anticipated new comic book releases of the year next week. It's an exciting new adventure that follows Grievous as he "stalks a Jedi Knight and his battalion of clone troopers ... [getting] an opportunity that will prove his worth to his Sith masters."
The story will feature Jedi Knight Cardiff Baye as Grievous's main adversary in "a tense game of cat and mouse as the cyborg wages a covert campaign, stalking his prey through the alien wilderness." If you're a fan of the franchise and have been waiting patiently to finally experience a new Grievous story, the wait is almost over.
Star Wars fans have a lot to be excited about this year, and assuming Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories—Grievous isn't delayed any further, they'll have one excellent new adventure to partake in very soon.
