Andy Behbakht has worked as an entertainment journalist since 2010, covering all the latest in Hollywood on both the big and small screens, from staying on top of the biggest breaking news, analyzing movies and television shows in Hollywood, to in-depth interviews with actors and storytellers.

Andy's career includes having worked for publications such as FanSided, KSiteTV, TV Fanatic, It's Just Movies, Heroic Hollywood, TV Overmind, and more. Outside of his career as an established reporter, Andy is the host and producer of The Showrunner Whisperer, The Flash Podcast, the editor-in-chief of Multiverse of Color, and the network director of DC TV Podcasts.

The Marvel trilogy is almost complete for Miles Morales, as Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse finally receives its first major look.

For CinemaCon 2026, which is currently taking place in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures finally brought some major updates about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, as ScreenRant was in attendance for their presentation, where Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Bob Persichetti, and Justin K. Thompson were present to finally discuss the highly anticipated trilogy finale. The audience was previewed to footage of the 2027 installment, as they were shown the opening.

It takes place right after the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ending, detailing the following: "The Prowler is watching Miles. Miles gets hit in the face and knocked out. He wakes up and sees his uncle. He talks to him to try to convince him to let him go. Miles then meets his alternate self, who is the Prowler in this world. This Miles is working with his uncle. Our Miles begs to be let go. The two argue about how to pronounce Morales. Miles explains the concept of a canon event. Evil Miles and Uncle Aaron laugh. Our Miles starts glitching and says he doesn't want to hurt them, then uses his powers to escape from the chains.

A quick montage is shown of Miles fighting, with a quick look at Miles and Gwen looking at each other. Spider-Ham is back and holding Peter B Parker’s baby. Spider Gwen is next to them. Spider people in different universes are shown in the same shot. Miles’ mom calls him strong - then cuts to the logo."

Sony also released several new images from the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse movie, including closer looks at new and returning players:

While Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse concludes Miles' arc, there are several animated Spider-Man movies coming up that will continue the franchise. As Miles' journey also comes to an end in animation, it will also open the door for his live-action debut, which Amy Pascal has teased over the last few years would become a possibility once the Spider-Verse trilogy is completed.

The web-crawler is also not missing from 2026 with Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which was also present at CinemaCon 2026, as the British actor will be making his big screen return playing the Marvel icon once more. Sony Pictures Television will also see Nicolas Cage portray a new version of Spider-Man Noir in the upcoming live-action TV show, Spider-Noir. The Hollywood star will also be back for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to open in theaters on June 18, 2027.
