‘SNL’ Alum John Higgins Joins Apple TV’s ‘Stick’ For Season 2

EXCLUSIVE: Saturday Night Live alum John Higgins has been cast in a recurring role for Season 2 of Apple TV‘s golf comedy series Stick, starring and executive produced by Owen Wilson.

Created by Jason Keller, Stick is described as a heartfelt, feel-good sports comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.

Higgins joins the the returning ensemble cast led by Wilson, Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Timothy Olyphant and Judy Greer, along with recently announced guest star Billy Zane.

In season one, Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage and while working at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi (Dager).

Hailing from Apple Studios, Stick is showrun by Keller, who also serves as executive producer alongside Wilson, Ben Silverman for Propagate Content and Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady. The series is also executive produced by Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Drew Buckley, Lee Eisenberg, Christopher Moynihan, Bill Callahan, and Jaffar Mahmood.

Actor and writer Higgins most recently wrapped the upcoming Netflix film, Bad Day directed by Jake Szymanski and starring Cameron Diaz. Best known for his work on Saturday Night Live as one-third of the New York-based comedy group Please Don’t Destroy, Higgins co-wrote and executive produced Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain, Universal’s 2023 feature film directed by Paul Briganti and produced by Judd Apatow. Higgins is repped by WME, Mosaic and Ziffren Brittenham.
