The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is a game full of fascinating oddities, and 15 years later, players are still discovering just how far they can bend its rules. Skyrim's extensive mod support is the obvious way to break outside its intended boundaries, but some of the best tricks don't require any tweaks to the game files.
Reddit user firefly99999 exemplified this by sharing a clip of their "Telekinesis elevator," a method for avoiding fall damage by using a cabbage. Dropping the cabbage from a bridge, they then use the alteration skill Telekinesis to pull the cabbage back up toward them. By stepping off the bridge and casting carefully, it's possible to chain that into a steady descent to the bottom.
Avoiding Fall Damage In Skyrim Requires A Cabbage
You Don't Need Any Rare Items
This method obviously requires some skill to execute safely, but the lack of any valuable resources makes it appealing. A cabbage might not be the only usable object, but it's a cheap and readily available one that perfectly suits the bill. It's also an effective way to level up Alteration quickly, and firefly99999's clip shows the number going up as they descend.
Telekinesis isn't the only interesting way to dodge fall damage in Skyrim, as clever use of shouts or even paralyzing consumables can assist in avoiding impacts with the right timing. In a comment on firefly99999's post, 1leggeddog shares their preference for the "Yeet yourself off the cliff with netch jelly and whirlwind shout" method, which is as tried and true as it gets. The cabbage technique might be the most amusing trick, though, and it's always nice to add another option to the repertoire.

A Game That Lives Forever
At this point, it should be hard to be surprised by anything in Skyrim, but the game never seems to truly grow old. Reddit user CromulentPoint notes that the "game just keeps on giving," which is, all things considered, a thoroughly cromulent point.
Endless ports and re-releases help with Skyrim's longevity, of course, but the community's commitment to uncovering every secret provides an even bigger contribution. Throw in mods, and the potential for interesting exploits grows to a seemingly boundless scale.
By all appearances, The Elder Scrolls 6 is still years away, so Skyrim will have to continue bearing the load for the time being. Luckily, it should have no trouble doing so, and the Telekinesis elevator is a great reminder of how much life still flows through The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's veins.
