ScreenRant is pleased to bring an exclusive first look at Skeletor’s redesign ahead of the new Masters of the Universe series. This summer, audiences will thrill to the adventures of He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms and others as they try to take their homeworld back from the evil Skeletor. The first trailer, released a little over a month ago, has generated enormous buzz ahead of the film’s June release.

The first trailer, released a little over a month ago, has generated enormous buzz ahead of the film’s June release.

Amazon/MGM’s Masters of the Universe film, starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor, opens a few years after the evil wizard fulfills his dream of conquering Eternia. Prince Adam has been hiding on Earth, while the rest of the Masters are on the run from Skeletor’s forces. Now, Adam must return to Eternia, and fulfill his destiny by liberating his people. He will not fight alone, as advanced trailers have shown Masters stalwarts like Teela, Roboto, Fisto and Mekanek. Likewise, Skeletor will be bringing the pain with his henchmen Trap-Jaw, Evil Lyn and Goat Man, among others.

The Masters of the Universe franchise is beloved by generations of fans, and anticipation for the film is building. A special, Teela-centric prequel novel releases a few days before the movie. Now, Dark Horse, who currently holds the rights to produce Masters of the Universe comics, is bringing fans a Skeletor-heavy story, set just after his greatest victory, and ScreenRant has a first look at it.

Skeletor Finally Gains Access to Castle Grayskull in Wings of Fate

Beast Man and Evil Lyn Are in Awe of Skeletor

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Wings of Fate, a four-issue miniseries, will be written by Tim Sheridan and drawn by Will Sliney. Dark Horse’s solicitation for the book reads as follows:

In the aftermath of Skeletor’s siege on Eternos, a down-and-out refugee gives sanctuary to a mysterious, injured falcon. Now, to save her life, he must embark upon a perilous journey through the Mystic Mountains and seek aid from the storied inhabitants of the realm of Avion.

Dark Horse has also provided ScreenRant with two, unlettered preview pages, shared here. The first shows Skeletor, attended by Beast Man and Evil Lyn, surveying a chamber from what is presumably inside Castle Grayskull. The next image confirms Skeletor’s victory, as he stands triumphantly in front of the Castle, holding his magic staff.

Since the preview pages are unlettered, it is hard to discern what is going on in them, but one thing is clear: Skeletor is triumphant. Beast Man, and especially Evil Lyn, are seemingly in awe of Skeletor, who does not even acknowledge them. The second image, showing Grayskull in ruins after Skeletor’s conquest, only solidifies the villains’ horror. Dark Horse did not release any additional information on Wings of Fate.

Skeletor is One of Pop Culture's Most Recognizable Villains

What Will Skeletor Do With the Power of Grayskull?

The Masters of the Universe franchise has many villains, like King Hiss and Hordak, but Skeletor remains the best known. In most incarnations of the franchise, Skeletor is actually Keldor, the half-brother of Randor, Prince Adam’s father. Keldor sought more power, disfiguring himself along the way and swearing revenge against Randor. Skeletor would then build an army of henchmen to aid him in his schemes of conquest. Many of them will be seen in the Masters of the Universe film.

Masters of the Universe Announces Surprise Sequel Ahead of the Movie’s Summer 2026 Premiere

A legend in the world of toys and collectibles and eager to break out further with its multimedia success, Masters of the Universe has a manga coming.

Wings of Fate, while focusing on a falcon, presumably Zoar, will still show why Skeletor is one of the best villains in pop culture. After years of plans that were continually thwarted, he has at last achieved his life’s ambition of taking Castle Grayskull. Wings of Fate will, in addition to Zoar, show what Skeletor will do with Grayksull’s power. Such power in the hands of someone as demented as Skeletor is a terrifying prospect.
