We often cover unfortunate cases of large retailers letting down customers, intentionally or not, but it's equally important to highlight rare positive instances. While some people receive rocks instead of the GPU they ordered, others get extremely lucky and end up with more than they paid for — that's what happened when a Redditor scored a cheeky hardware combo for less than 10% of its actual price. Newegg even replied to the Reddit thread with a thumbs-up emoji despite the pricing disaster.

Can’t believe I received the order. Free DDR5 kit plus credits. Newegg combo pricing error. from r/pcmasterraceIt became clear to u/KTsoFresh that this was likely a system error, so, gritting their teeth, they placed the order, never imagining it would go through. OP notes in their caption that the combo pricing error was fixed just 10 minutes after their order was placed, reducing the savings to only $100. Newegg could've brought up its terms of service and pulled out like most vendors, but the retailer honored the sale.
As you can expect, the comments were a mix of bittersweet jubilation for OP and praise for Newegg, with many hoping they were in place of the u/KTsoFresh. One person came forward to say, "I thought I was the only one," indicating that at least one other customer took advantage of this short-lived oversight. With just how bad the component shortage is getting, we'll take any wins we can get.
