Shirtless Simon Baker, 56, shows off his ripped beach body during a swim in Sydney as Nicole Kidman romance rumours continue to swirl

Simon Baker continues to age like fine wine. 

The Mentalist star, 56, showed off his incredibly fit physique as he went for a swim at Bronte Beach on Wednesday.

Simon revealed his bulging biceps and impressive abs as he emerged from the water in a pair of bright yellow boardshorts. 

After his swim, the Tasmanian-born actor wrapped a white towel around his waist, slipped on dark sunglasses and headphones around his neck, grinning broadly while drying off on the sand.

It looked to be an enjoyable outing for the A-list actor, who has recently been the subject of romance rumours with fellow Aussie star, Nicole Kidman.

Rumours have swirled that he could possibly be more than friends with his Scarpetta co-star after they held hands at the New York premiere for their Amazon Prime series. 

At the event, Nicole, 58, admitted that their chemistry 'just vibrates', while Simon cheekily added: 'I don't kiss and tell'. 

Nicole's ex-husband Keith Urban, 58, is said to be devastated by the flirty encounter, given how quickly she appears to be moving on from their separation last year. 

'Seeing Nicole and Simon holding hands was the equivalent of seeing his best mate with his missus... it did a number on him,' an insider told this week's Woman's Day magazine.

'He knew it was natural for her to lean on Simon – he was also there for Naomi Watts after her split from Liev [Schreiber].' 

The source added that Keith was seriously hoping that Nicole and Simon were just having fun for the cameras, as a genuine romance between them would devastate him. 

'Keith is hoping they're just hamming it up for headlines. But even then it feels to him like it's a betrayal because both Nicole and Simon know how much even the hint of a romance between them will hurt him,' they said.

'He already suspected they were getting close while filming. This has become his worst nightmare.'

Nicole and Simon beamed as they attended the star-studded New York premiere of Scarpetta on March 3, staying by each other's side throughout the night.

The Babygirl actress has been close to Simon for decades, and is also good friends with Simon's ex-wife Rebecca Rigg, from whom he separated in 2020.

In January, it was reported that Nicole's A-list friends were encouraging her to move on from her divorce by getting back into the dating pool.

According to Woman's Day, Nicole's close buddy Naomi Watts suggested the Oscar winner date fellow Aussie star Simon.
