Peter Capaldi has gushed that he's 'hugely proud' of his famous cousin Lewis Capaldi, as he branded the singer 'an amazing talent'.
The Doctor Who star, 68, and the hitmaker, 29, are distantly related to each other, being second cousins once removed.
Despite their familial link, the pair actually didn't cross paths until 2018, when Peter unexpectedly showed up to attend one of Lewis' gigs in London.
The following year, the actor starred in the poignant music video for the songwriter's massive hit single, Someone You Love, which also served as an advert for organ donation charity Live Life Give Life.
And Peter has offered several rare comments about his famous cousin, sweetly praising him as 'brilliant' and 'the real thing'.
Speaking on The Saturday Show on BBC Sounds, he said: '[Lewis] is amazing and I think he's absolutely brilliant.

'Weirdly, I'm hugely proud of him, even though when he was young I didn't really know him!
'But I think he's an amazing talent, I really do. He's the real thing and I'm so admiring of him.'
Lewis previously revealed how big an inspiration Peter had been for his family growing up, knowing they were related to such a successful star.
Recalling their first meeting in 2018, he told the Record: 'My dad and my aunties told me we were related to Peter a while ago, I think he’s my dad’s second cousin.
'Whenever he came on the TV they’d always say "You’re related to Malcolm Tucker" or "you’re related to Doctor Who".
'None of us had met him though so when my agent mentioned he’d been in touch asking about coming to my show in London I said "yes, of course!"'
Lewis gushed: 'He came backstage afterwards to say hello and we had a great chat.
'We talked a bit about the family connection and he said he really liked the music, so that was really nice of him. He’s a really cool guy. It’s a big inspiration to have someone who’s so successful in the family.'
While he later said getting Peter to star in his music video was 'such a massive honour', adding: 'He’s absolutely incredible in the video and I’m so proud of how it turned out.'
It comes after Lewis recently responded to reports he spent Coachella weekend with Kim Kardashian in typically humorous fashion on Monday evening.
The Scottish star was mistakenly identified as Kim's partner Lewis Hamilton by an X account called Distinct Post, who had confused him for the F1 driver.

Mocking the mix-up, Lewis reshared the post and wrote: 'Wow guys not cool such an invasion of our privacy'.
Failing to see the sarcasm in the joke, some X users hit back and told him he shouldn't expect privacy at such a public event.
Lewis hilariously branded one 'silly billy' and asked another if it was his 'first day on this planet', if he thought he was dating American reality personality Kim, 45.
The account who originally shared the post about Lewis and Kim then clarified they had meant Lewis Hamilton all along.
They wrote: 'Guys it was typo. I accidentally promoted Lewis Hamtilon to *Louis Capaldi [sic].'
