Sharon Stone’s family has experienced a difficult loss.
The 68-year-old confirmed May 13 that her eldest brother Mike Stone died following a health battle. He was 74.
“Mike Stone, my oldest brother,” Sharon wrote alongside a photo of her sibling on Instagram. “Has passed away. Following an extended illness. We wish him peace.”
She signed her note with her name as well as those of her sons Roan Joseph Bronstein Stone, 25, Laird Vonne Stone, 21, and Quinn Kelly Stone, 19.
In response to the news, Sharon’s costars and friends sent their well wishes amid her grief, with Cary Elwes writing, “Sorry for your loss, Sharon.” Meanwhile, Debi Mazar said, “My condolences Sharon.”
While Mike stayed mostly out of the spotlight, he was an actor like his sister, working on 1990s films like Eraser and Malevolence. Sharon and Mike shared a screen on the 1995 western flick The Quick and the Dead, which also starred the late Gene Hackman.
This isn’t the first time Sharon and her family—including younger sister Kelly—have had to endure a heartbreaking loss. In 2023, she mourned the death of her younger brother Patrick Stone, who died of a heart attack at 57. Not long before Patrick passed, his 11-month-old son River—whom he shared with wife Tasha Stone—died of organ failure in August 2021.
"Like any family, we thank you for your love and support in this time of immeasurable grief and we appreciate all of your condolences,” Sharon said following her younger brother’s death in a now-deleted Instagram video, per People. "Yes, we've had a tremendous amount of loss in these last couple of years, as so many of you also have.”

She continued, “We do greatly understand that the losses are ours here on Earth, and I thank you very much for the love and support that you're showing us, and we just ask you to continue to be kind. Thank you."
