Inside Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce's New York Date Night After NFL Training Camp Ends
Church bells rang, and now Travis Kelce is carrying Taylor Swift home.
Two months after the couple tied the knot at Madison Square Garden, they stepped out for the first time as a married couple for a date night at Ambassadors Clubhouse New York Sept. 6.
For the post-white veil occasion, Swift opted for a Stella McCartney halter-top dress with metallic detailing, along with matching strappy heels and a red handbag by the brand. The “I Knew It, I Knew You” singer also put her new haircut on full display, sporting light curls while her signature bangs were swept to one side.
Kelce, for his part, wore a green silk striped shirt, a pair of brown slacks and a pair of checkerboard slip-on shoes. The Kansas City Chiefs player topped off his look with a gold watch and a pair of shaded aviator sunglasses.
The couple’s high-fashion night out comes shortly after Kelce finally shared some details about their pair’s special day.
“It’s been so much fun, it was insane,” Kelce said during an episode of New Heights Sept. 2. “It was a night we’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up. From the vows to the seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening, and hearing that being relayed through everyone’s stories of that night—it was just so magical man, I wish it could have lasted longer than it did.”
And while the couple’s choice to host their nuptials at the famed sports arena in the middle of Manhattan certainly raised eyebrows, the Happy Gilmore 2 star shared why it ended up being the perfect venue.

“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,” Kelce explained, “and we needed to have a private feel, and MSG went above and beyond to give us that and I can’t thank everybody enough, that showed up but helped put that show on.”
Of course, the NFL player also couldn’t help but nod toward the arena’s notoriety.
“It’s kind of cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue and the mecca of all sports venues—being able to get married there,” the 36-year-old said during an Aug. 12 press conference. “We can thank the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that.”

The pair also each wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes. And Swift didn’t trade the Cartier for someone to trust, opting to sport accessories made by the jeweler.

Who was in Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding party?
While the rumors flew as to who from Swift’s squad would make it onto the altar with her, both the Grammy winner and her now-husband opted to skip the traditional wedding party. Instead, Swift had her brother Austin Swift act as her Man of Honor, while Kelce tapped his brother Jason Kelce to be his Best Man.
As for who was heard saying speak now or forever hold your peace? Adam Sandler stepped in to be the couple’s officiant. The comedian is, along with his family, a longtime Swiftie and has been a guest on the New Heights podcast. Kelce also made a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2, which Swift rated “13/10” and called “an absolute must watch.”

Who didn’t attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding?
Considering these nuptials simply hit different, it’s hard to believe any guest would decline on their RSVP. However, stars including Ryan Seacrest, Zoë’s fiancé (and Swift’s ex) Harry Styles and Swift’s former BFF Jaime King, whose son Leo Thames is one of Swift’s godchildren, had to skip the ceremony for their own reasons, emphasizing no bad blood.
Meanwhile, Garret “Jacknife” Lee—who co-produced Swift’s “The Last Time”—thought his invite was too good to be true. His wife Melissa Garner Lee revealed in an op-ed that her husband told her he’d received “a text” from Swift’s manager inviting the couple to her nuptials, but ignored it thinking it was spam.
Swift’s “Snow on the Beach” duet partner Lana Del Rey, for her part, also opted for a low-key weekend, skipping the nuptials in favor of hosting a friend’s birthday, which she confirmed on Instagram.
Among other stars who were formerly in Swift and Kelce’s inner circle but did not make their white veil occasion include Dianna Agron, Keleigh Sperry Teller and Miles Teller, as well as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Although the stars were previously thick as thieves with Swift and Kelce, it appears a frost has arisen amid the friendships.
