Sharing her candid thoughts on the news, Gemma shared a print which said: 'I didn't know I was supposed to know how to do everything by my second rodeo. That is still a very low number of rodeos'.

Gemma also revealed some of her pregnancy cravings, sharing a photo of a plate of vegetarian sausages, pickled onions and a pack of grapes.

She previously revealed she concealed her baby bump throughout her first pregnancy to 'keep her [daughter] safe and protected'.

She admitted she was sure someone would spot it during the last shows of her superstar brother's Love On Tour – however no one did.

In a Q&A with her followers, Gemma was asked why she decided not to share that she was pregnant.

Sharing a snap of herself cradling her bump while wearing an oversized jumper, Gemma replied: 'To be honest it was a mixture of things, some more personal and some less so.

'I wanted to wait until after some later scans but thought there was no way I was going to get through the last Love On Tour shows without seeing my bump so that would be it… but turns I managed to keep it under wraps and eventually I was like, I think I can make it to the end? And that felt like the right decision for us.'

Gemma was then commended by a follower for 'taking care' of her daughter's privacy for the time being.

'Thank you, I appreciate that!' she said. 'I don't know if I'll always feel the same about it but essentially giving out information online it's like… you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, you know?

'I've never done this before, I don't know what she would want and we want to keep her safe and protected.

'I know lots of people keep their kids' faces/names/details off social media and there are some great reasons for that, we'll figure it out in our own time.'

She added: 'I really appreciate all the supportive messages checking in on how we are, it's so nice that people care – we're good!'

Alongside the post announcing the birth on February 23, Gemma wrote: 'Hello from maternity leave! Took some time off to ensure the safe arrival of our baby girl, who is adored by her whole family.

'I know that this news can be difficult for many people and I'm sending you lots of love.'

Gemma and Michal have been together since 2015. One of their earliest dates was watching her younger brother Harry, 32, perform with One Direction.

In the summer, Gemma joined her sibling on stage as he completed a record-breaking 12 night stint at Wembley Stadium in London.

Harry's band introduced his sister before Gemma nervously took to the mic and told the 80,000 fans present: 'This is not somewhere I ever wanted to be!'

'That said, this is not a normal evening,' she continued. 'My little brother is about to finish a record-breaking 12-night run.'

'And I'm gonna keep this pretty short because I don't know how you do this quite frankly, I feel like I'm gonna...'

Gemma then turned to her brother, telling him: 'I don't think of you as this at all in day-to-day life. I think of you as a brother and an uncle and a best friend. And seeing the incredible community that has formed around you is just indescribable, really.'

'Thank you to everyone who has been here with you over the past 12 nights and the last 16 years.'

Gemma then recalled the moment she dropped her 16-year-old brother at his first audition for The X Factor at Wembley Arena, where One Direction were formed.

'I left you over the wall somewhere over there and awkwardly backed away and thought "are you going to be able to handle this small person?" And now we're here,' she pointed out as Harry wiped his face.

'I'm so proud of you,' she said. 'And not just because of this. I'm proud of who you are, and who you allow other people to be, and the impact you've made on so many, not least on the ones who get to love you… what a life-long privilege that is. Thank you for being you,' she added.

'I love you so much, and yeah, please help me congratulate you on a historic 12 nights at Wembley.'

The siblings shared a long hug before Gemma left her brother to finish up his final gig.
