In the video, we see Marvel characters like Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange punching bad guys, and it's hard not to notice how closely this art style resembles Marvel Rivals. The game appears to be an action RPG with cooldowns and real-time combat, as you’d see in Genshin Impact. The video description on Bilibili mentions “collectible Marvel characters,” which seems to corroborate that this is a gacha-style game where players need to roll for new characters with in-game currency. It appears to be coming out on Android and iOS.
It should be noted that while elements of the trailer look legit, the audio is completely off, with an awkward voice-over and de-synced sound effects. The trailer also ends abruptly, suggesting it was a work in progress. Still, the overlap with previous leaks lends credence to the video being legit. According to X user Miller Ross, Project Comet was recruiting beta testers four months ago.
As for other details, the leak from MultiverSusie alleged that the following twelve characters would be in the game: Captain America, Elektra, War Machine, Invisible Woman, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Juggernaut, Doc Ock, Quicksilver, Beast, and Thor. The X user and reporter Sarge pointed to a Scopely job posting suggesting Project Comet is a free-to-play, open-world adventure title with crossplay between PC and mobile.
Who is working on Project Comet?
Project Comet is allegedly being developed by Scopely, a video game company funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). In 2025, Scopely acquired Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go and Pikmin Bloom, in a $3.5 billion deal. Many have seen the PIF’s recent focus on gaming as a way for the Saudi Arabian government to improve its poor global standing by investing in golf leagues and video games, so the regime is associated with entertainment instead of human rights violations. In August, the PIF finalized its $55 billion purchase of EA.
