The Pokémon Trading Card Game: Delta Reign set will release this November, continuing the current Mega Evolution series of the TCG. This is the first expansion to launch after the massively popular 30th Celebration set, but the Pokémon TCG keeps the excitement going by offering up new cards for Mega Rayquaza ex and many other popular Pokémon. As usual, a number of products will be releasing for Delta Reign, but the Elite Trainer Box will likely be the most popular item once again.

The Delta Reign set includes over 135 cards, putting it on par with many of the most recent expansions in the Mega Evolution series. Cards are still focused on Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Mega Dimension DLC, but there are of course references to the Gen 3 games and the Delta Episode in ORAS. The end result is a TCG set that fans of Ruby and Sapphire can adore, and the newest Mega ex cards are cool whether you love the Gen 3 games or not.

Ahead of the new release, I sampled some of the new offerings from Delta Reign, including the latest Elite Trainer Box.

What's Included In The Elite Trainer Box For Delta Reign

Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution Delta Reign ETB contents

The Elite Trainer Box for Delta Reign offers up booster packs and other useful items for the Pokémon TCG. The Pokémon Center exclusive ETB comes with an additional promo card with a special stamp, but the Elite Trainer Boxes from major retailers all include the same items. The contents of the Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box are:

  • 9 booster packs
  • 65 card sleeves
  • 40 Energy cards
  • 6 damage-counter dice
  • 6 card dividers
  • 1 completition-legal coin-flip die
  • 1 plastic coin
  • 1 full-art promo card
  • 1 player's guide booklet
  • 1 code card for the Pokémon TCG Live

All of the above items come inside a nice collector's box, which is great for storage and organization. The box itself has Mega Rayquaza on the front, and the inner box top is made from a similar material as holo foil cards, offering a nice little shine that helps this ETB stand out from others.

The promo card features Kyogre, which comes with the moves "Waterfall" and "Brutal Whirlpool." Otherwise, the Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box is all about Mega Rayquaza. In addition to being on the box itself, Mega Rayquaza is on the card sleeves, card dividers, and the coin. Even the coin-flip die is the same green as the Mega Rayquaza artwork on the ETB.

Pokémon TCG: Delta Reign Card Highlights

The Kyogre promo card artwork is beautiful, and it's probably my favorite ETB promo we've gotten in a long time. I found both the promos for the 30th Celebration and Pitch Black sets to be a bit underwhelming. Of course, most folks will be paying attention to the cards they pull from the ETB's booster packs.

The Legendary Summit Stadium/Trainer cards offer dual artwork, and it's not the only one. There are several of these dual Legendary Stadium cards, which are a pretty cool new addition to the Pokémon TCG. There are also a number of full-art "Zinnia's Trust" Trainer cards, starring Zinnia herself.

The most obvious chase card here is the golden Mega Rayquaza ex (#141), but I'm absolutely in love with the SIR Raikou ex (#136). There's a new full-art Eevee that's bound to wind up on most valuable cards lists, and I pulled a Kecleon full-art that has a southwestern artwork vibe I'm really digging.

How Delta Reign ETB Compares To Previous Elite Trainer Boxes

Pokemon TCG Delta Reign Key Art featuring Rayquaza

Overall, I'm quite pleased by Delta Reign and its Elite Trainer Box. If you've purchased an ETB before, you'll find similar items here, but the box makes a great storage item and also provides a nice boost to starting your Delta Reign collection thanks to the booster packs and everything else inside. While I liked the 30th Celebration set, I was a bit underwhelmed by Pitch Black and didn't like Chaos Rising as much as I wanted to.

In terms of other Mega Evolution expansions, Delta Reign doesn't quite reach the heights of Phanstasmal Flames, which was last year's November set, but it stands out as one of my personal favorite sets of 2026. With more Mega Evolution sets planned for 2027, the Pokémon Trading Card Game: Delta Reign expansion is a fine way to close out this year, even if it feels a bit anticlimactic after all the hype surrounding the 30th Celebration cards.
