Samantha Armytage was left squirming on Tuesday after finding herself fielding unexpected questions about a former flame from the son of veteran journalist Michael Usher.
Sam, 50, and the Seven News presenter, 56, were the subject of romance rumours in 2015 and again in 2017, after reportedly going on several dates.
While the pair never publicly confirmed the relationship at the time, the Golden Bachelor host finally acknowledged their brief romance during an awkward live radio exchange.
The TV personality appeared on Kyle Sandilands Live on Tuesday morning when Michael's son Matt, who is currently interning on the show, put her on the spot.
'There used to be some stuff in the press about Dad and you... that you and him had relations?' Matt asked.
Clearly caught off guard, Samantha laughed before questioning why he would choose to revisit the years-old romance.

'I can't believe you are doing this to your own father!' she replied.
After some prodding, Samantha confirmed the rumours had been true.
'We went out on a few dates!'
A producer then joked that Matt was searching for a 'mother figure', prompting an immediate shutdown from both him and Samantha.
'He's got a mother! I know her, she used to work at Channel Nine,' Sam quipped, referring to Michael's ex-wife Annalie.
The exchange left Kyle Sandilands stunned.
Sam, 50, and Michael, 56, first sparked romance speculation in 2015 after Natalie Barr reportedly played matchmaker
'So, hang on! Everyone on TV has sex with each other, is that what happens?' he asked.
'Probably! There is a reason why I went and married a farmer, put it that way,' Samantha joked.
Romance rumours first emerged in 2015 after Natalie Barr reportedly played matchmaker for the two television stars.
At the time, the pair reportedly went on a date before reconnecting two years later, when they were said to be spending time together at Samantha's Southern Highlands property away from the Sydney spotlight.
However, by mid-2017 the relationship had run its course.
Samantha later blasted ongoing speculation about her private life, taking to Instagram to argue that, as one of Australia's most senior female journalists, she should be asked 'intelligent questions' rather than be forced to address dating rumours.

She doubled down on those comments at a fashion event later that year, dismissing reports about her love life as 'nasty, tabloid bulls**t' and insisting she would not answer similar questions in future.
Samantha went on to marry equestrian businessman Richard Lavender in 2020, before the couple separated in 2024.
