Ryan Reynolds Praises “Fearless” Blake Lively Days After Justin Baldoni Settlement

Ryan Reynolds had an extra special Mother's Day tribute to Blake Lively

After the Deadpool star penned an emotional shoutout to the Gossip Girl alum—whom he shares kids James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3, with—Blake had the best reaction.

As she wrote over a repost of Ryan’s kind words alongside a heart-faced emoji on Instagram Stories May 10, “I happen to be pretty fond of you too.”

As for what Ryan said of his wife of 13 years in the Mother’s Day message?

“I appreciate this mother beyond measure,” he wrote on Instagram stories alongside two snaps of the couple enjoying time in nature. “She is kind. She is fearless. She’s the absolute love of my life—and to our four little kids, she’s the life of their love.”

One week earlier, Blake returned to the 2026 Met Gala hours after news broke of her settlement deal with her It Ends With Us director and costar Justin Baldoni following their yearslong legal battle.

At the event, the mom of four shared how she was keeping her little ones close with a special fashion choice.

“This is a Judith Leiber bag,” the 38-year-old shared with Vogue, “and we were trying to find a piece of famous iconic art to put on and make it look like it's in a frame.”

“Then I said, ‘If you're gonna do it custom, can you do my kids' art?’ So my kids each painted a watercolor painting,” Blake continued. “Each of my four kids did this. Isn't that special? So I have them with me."

And though they couldn’t be there in-person, The Shallows star shared how her kids gave her the strength she needed to step out at fashion’s biggest night.

"I'm shy too, I just like to have my kids with me,” she explained. “I probably could've fit them under my dress to be honest."

In addition to holding her little ones close, Blake has also leaned on Ryan for support amid her legal battle, who has been by her side every step of the way.

"I’ve never in my life been more proud of my wife,” Ryan said April 19 on Today's Sunday Sitdown Live with Willie Geist. "People have no idea what’s really going on, you know?"

"And I’ve just never in my life been more proud of someone with that level of integrity that brings that with them," he added, "and carries that with them in everything that they do."
