One of Robin Williams' most underrated animated films is about to receive the live-action treatment.

When it comes to animated movies, the actor and comedian is best known for voicing the Genie in Aladdin, and Ramon and Lovelace in Happy Feet. But in 1992, the same year that Aladdin came out, Williams also voiced the character Batty Koda in FernGully: The Last Rainforest.

It's been 34 years since the underrated movie was released in theaters, and now Amazon MGM Studios is developing a live-action remake of FernGully: The Last Rainforest, according to Deadline.

Marielle Heller, whose previous credits include The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Can You Ever Forgive Me? and the Mister Rogers biopic A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, is on board as director and screenwriter. The producing team consists of Heller, Stacey Sher, Susan Ursitti-Sheinberg, Jon Sheinberg, Matt Feige, Leah Holzer and Moonli Singha.
