Rick & Morty's first spinoff is making its mark.

The adult animated sci-fi franchise Rick and Morty was first created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland for Adult Swim and has become a major media empire. The flagship series follows a mad scientist and his anxious grandson as the two traverse galaxies and get up to a whole lot of mayhem. The series has expanded into anime and comics, with its first spinoff already released, and critics are having their say.

Rick and Morty's first spinoff, President Curtis, has officially received its first judgment, and its Rotten Tomatoes score is extremely rare. In a surprising turn of events, President Curtis currently has a perfect 100% rating from critics. ScreenRant's Ben Gibbons stated that the series "feels chaotic, messy, and experimental, but that all adds to the charm and tone that makes it a part of the world of Rick and Morty." With others stating the spinoff is "Gloriously silly and profanely stupid."

President Curtis stars Keith David, Stephanie Beatriz, and Jim Rash, with the official synopsis stating that the series follows "the commander-in-chief and his eccentric staff as they tackle the kind of crises that Rick Sanchez could never be bothered with, from monster diplomacy to paranormal investigations and unexplained phenomena."

Rick and Morty recently achieved the same rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics with season 9, and its lowest-rated season remains season 7. Critics stated that the latest season of the adult animated series is "The best the series has been in a while," and "If you've thought about giving up on Rick and Morty — or did already — trust me when I say that 2026 is the year you should give the show another chance."

It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that the series has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its official debut. President Curtis will release its first episode on July 26 at 11:30 PM ET and 8:30 PM PT, right after the Rick and Morty season 9 finale. Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen stated:

"President Curtis quickly proved himself worthy of another term! With Keith David’s inimitably endearing performance and the creativity of Dan, James and the entire show team, this series and this President are what the people need more of — even if they don’t know it yet."

President Curtis will crash-land on your screens on July 26.
