"I'm astonished," Tilly exclusively told E! News in response to interest in her finances after joining the Bravo series' current 14th season. "Number one, I don't think of myself as rich. But I guess I'm delusional because I do have several properties and a purse apparently that cost $33,000." (Watch E! News tonight, Jan. 14, at 11 p.m. for more of our exclusive sit-down with Jennifer.)
"I thought everybody knew that I had a piece of The Simpsons," the Oscar-nominated actress continued. "It's not a large piece, but even a little piece is something to write home about."
And despite owning four homes—one in Las Vegas, a beach house in Malibu and two properties right next door to each other is the uber-pricey Bel-Air neighborhood—Tilly insists she lives humbly.
"My boyfriend and I live very simply and a very small cluttered house," the 66-year-old noted. "Yes, there's a giant house next door, but we don't go there. I guess we're kind of delusional. I don't have a giant mansion or a chauffeur that calls me Miss Tilly and makes out with me like Sutton [Stracke]'s chauffeur. I just live my life the way that I used to live."
Tilly admitted she was shocked by the public reaction after she revealed during the reality series'' Dec. 3 episode that she still receives residuals from The Simpsons to this day, thanks to the late Simon, who she divorced in 1991 nearly two decades before his 2015 death.

"The thing I was astonished by, people thought that that was fabulous," the Chucky star recounted. "They were like, 'She has a house next door to her house and she bought a $4,000 dress for her doll.' They're like 'high five.' I thought people would be like, 'That's horrible that she spent that much money for a dress for her doll when people are hungry.' But I think the service that Housewives serves is people like to live vicariously through us."
And despite showcasing her luxe lifestyle on TV, TIlly still believes "it's kind of gauche to flaunt your wealth"—and money cannot buy you happiness.
"This is why people love Housewives," she noted. "'They're so rich and they can afford all the plastic surgeon that the heart could desire and designer clothes and jewels, but they're still not happy.' That is the key to Housewives. Like, 'Wow, if I had all that wealth, I would be happy.' But these people, they're miserable. That's why people like to watch Housewives."
As for the ultra-rare Louis Vuitton boat purse she flaunted earlier this season, Tilly clarified the designer bag's true retail price.
"Actually, it didn't it cost $33,000, which I'm just setting that straight right now," she told E!. "They must have had some intern look it up. It's very rare, maybe on the secondary market they jacked up the price but I called my purse contact and I said, 'How much did I pay for that purse?' She said, '$22,000.'"
