There is never a dull moment in the Resident Evil community, with rumors and leaks abound, but it seems fair to assume that fans can scratch one possible ‘tease’ from the list concerning the confirmed story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem and which characters it may feature. Indeed, a self-made clip of Resident Evil 2 remake’s Jolene Andersen (who played Ada Wong) was previously believed to hint at her involvement in a future Resident Evil project, though that seems to have been debunked only recently.
According to Reddit, user No1PiggyOnTheBlock explained the situation and noted that Jolene Andersen, in-character as Ada, talking about going on a “secret mission” to Raccoon City, was merely part of a Cameo video directed at a fan. Now, this does not mean that Ada will not ultimately appear in a Resident Evil Requiem DLC, but we can probably rule out the actor’s involvement.
Ada Wong Might Not Make It Into RE9
Fans were stirred into a frenzy when Jolene Andersen’s “secret mission” clip made the rounds, and understandably so. Not only would this mean that Jolene Andersen was reprising the role of Resident Evil’s Ada Wong (taking it back from the Resident Evil 4 remake’s Lily Gao, no less), but it would also mean that Ada was a likely candidate for a playable protagonist in Resident Evil Requiem’s story DLC.
Unfortunately, with this clip taken out of context, fans were misinformed, jumping the gun on a fun hypothetical that Jolene Andersen probably invented there and then.
The detail that undeniably deflates this being a tease is Ada’s team-up with none other than The Legend of Zelda’s titular princess, which would make for quite the crossover if that were ever to occur. The actress’s full quote from the Cameo video is as follows:
“Speaking of missions, I’m getting ready to go on a very top-secret mission myself. I’d love to tell you all about it, but that information is classified. Now, I don’t want to be a rookie about it, because I wouldn’t want to end up like Ben, now, would I? So, I’m heading into Raccoon City armed with the best protector I could find; with the best sidekick, and the best friend I could find: I’m taking Zelda with me.
Now listen, I will take good care of Zelda, Zelda will take very good care of me, and I promise you we’re both going to make it out of Raccoon City alive, okay?”
We’re Still Waiting For RE9 DLC Info
This was thankfully caught and clarified before too long. Nonetheless, it may not be much longer, anyway, until actual confirmation of what Resident Evil Requiem’s story DLC will entail.
For instance, there is a chance that Ada will appear, having been teased subtly throughout the ninth mainline Resident Evil installment, as so many other legacy franchise characters are, but only time will tell.
