'Red One' Streaming on Prime Video: Release Date and Time

1 week ago 3

Prime Video will deliver an early holiday parcel this week: the Christmas action movie Red One.

Streaming audiences both naughty and nice will be able to watch the festive Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson team up less than a month after it premiered in theaters. The PG-13-rated film revolves around the abduction of Santa, portrayed by J.K. Simmons. The fate of Christmas comes down to Evans' infamous bounty hunter and Johnson's North Pole security head. The flick also includes Lucy Liu, a talking polar bear and some villains steeped in chilling folklore.

In addition to Red One, Prime Video's collection of new holiday content includes the animated movie The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland (also streaming on Hulu), the comedy offering Jack in Time for Christmas, Jeff Dunham's Scrooged-Up Holiday Special and last year's original film Candy Cane Lane. You can watch all those now and Red One in just a few days. Here's what you need to know.

When to watch Red One on Prime Video

Want to stream the globe-trotting holiday film? Red One drops at 3 a.m. ET/midnight PT on Thursday, Dec. 12, according to Prime Video's website.

Prime Video is one of the perks of an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $15 per month or $139 per year, but you can also get the streamer on its own for $9 per month. Red One isn't yet available to rent digitally, but you can park your sleigh at a theater if you want to catch the comedy before Thursday.
