Real Housewives of Atlanta star Mia Thornton has been dragged into fresh online controversy after being accused of digitally placing her face onto another woman’s body in a now-viral Instagram post.
The reality star, who was arrested in November over alleged furniture theft, sparked backlash when followers spotted striking similarities between her post and an image shared by influencer Sophie O’Neill.
In the since-deleted Instagram upload, Thornton posed in a form-fitting white dress with a plunging neckline, holding a small white handbag while striking a polished, glamorized pose.
However, social media users were quick to point out that everything from the pose to the background appeared almost identical to O’Neill’s original image, with only Thornton’s face seemingly swapped in.
The alleged overlap set off a wave of accusations online, with critics claiming the image had been heavily edited rather than originally taken.
O’Neill soon appeared to address the controversy, reposting Thornton's image with a blunt message written across it.

‘@mrsmiathornton - super imposing yourself onto my picture. The world is a very scary place these days – this is just sad,’ she wrote, before adding, ‘Please can you remove the picture of ME with your head on it. Thanks.’
At one point, Thornton appeared to respond by posting a separate image in the same outfit but from a different setting, showing her seated in a restaurant booth.
‘Never needed clout,’ wrote Thornton in the caption. ‘My name carries enough weight on its own.’
However, by then the controversy had already snowballed online, with fans accusing the star of attempting a blatant ‘body swap’ edit.
‘She didn’t even try to hide it,’ one user commented.
Another posted: ‘So you asked chat GPT to make you sit down in a restaurant setting ok girl. Go away from us with this.'
Another shared: ‘She could’ve at least changed the purse man.’
Another added: ‘You can ask AI to make the person sit down lol,You would need a screen recorded video with a series of all pics in this outfit and location timestamped.’
In the following days, both Thornton and O’Neill shared the image of the white dress edited with several different people’s faces, appearing to poke fun at the situation

The Photoshop drama comes after Thornton broke her silence just days after her November 19 arrest following an alleged theft.
Thornton was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after being accused of stealing around $11,000 worth of furniture from a condo she had been renting.
The TV personality - who announced her exit from the Bravo reality series in April after four seasons - reflected on feeling ‘reborn’, saying she was choosing ‘composure over chaos’ alongside a series of black-and-white glam shots..
In one image, she was seen wearing a fuzzy coat, with her long dark hair styled in soft waves past her shoulders.
‘Reborn. Re-centered. Re-focused. Year 41 — may it be soft, wealthy, protected, and intentional. MIAMOR,’ Thornton wrote in the caption.
Thornton - who split from boyfriend Incognito earlier this year - was previously seen in police bodycam footage obtained by TMZ at the airport.
According to reports, she was later booked into Fulton County Jail on a larceny charge.
The reality star and her ex-husband Gordon Thornton share son Jeremiah, 10, and daughter Juliana, eight.
She is also mom to an older son, Joshua, from a previous relationship.
In January, she announced her split from ex-boyfriend Incognito.
