Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.

For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.

He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.

His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

Jack Reacher has never been one for hanging around in one place for too long without a good reason, and that's true also of the franchise. Alan Ritchson's future as Reacher is secured for the long term, having only recently wrapped his fourth outing as the enormous former military investigator, and now his next adventure is only a few weeks away.

Chain Reaction, the 31st Jack Reacher novel, will officially be released on October 20, 2026, continuing the bestselling series created by Lee Child. The new installment is written entirely by Child's brother, Andrew Child, who has officially taken over the series, and Andrew has made the wise decision to bring back a particularly important character from Reacher's past. The official synopsis reads:

Jack Reacher is hard to find. It's not easy to track him down. And he likes it that way. But General Susan Turner, based deep inside the Pentagon, has the means and the motive. She needs his help. A member of her team has been brutally murdered on covert duty. She can’t trust anyone she works with, not even her deputy. She needs someone from the outside. Someone who solves problems and disappears without a trace.

Reacher heads to Summertown, Colorado. A town as remote and bizarre as it gets. One diner, one motel, five massive data centers, two giant solar farms humming away in the dust. Total population: four people. And one of them is watching him. But Reacher isn’t built to run. He’s built to finish things. General Turner knows that if they come for Reacher, they’ll regret it—all the way to the top of the chain.

What's Next for Jack Reacher on Prime Video?

The next adaptation is already underway. Season 5 will tackle Make Me, Child's 20th Reacher novel, with production currently taking place in Toronto. Prime Video has yet to reveal which novel will be adapted for the newly ordered sixth season. Turner first appeared in the novels with 61 Hours, the book that Lee Child recently told Collider would be "impossible" to adapt. Cobie Smulders subsequently played Turner opposite Tom Cruise in 2016's Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

Chain Reaction will be released in the United States and United Kingdom on October 20, 2026, while the first four seasons of Reacher are streaming on Prime Video.
