Evan Mullicane is the senior editor and founder of Screen Rant's anime section. Having started as a writer for the Comics Team at the beginning of the Pandemic, Evan was swiftly promoted from writer to editor, and then from editor to lead of Screen Rant's newly established anime vertical.
Throughout his time with Screen Rant, Evan has made a handful of appearances at conventions such as Anime Expo and San Diego Comic-Con, and has interviewed some of the biggest names in Anime and Comics history.
In addition to editing anime and manga articles for Screen Rant, Evan is also a science fiction and fantasy author. In 2018 and 2019, his short story "The Demon's Mother" won honorable mentions from the Writers of the Future contest.

After 12 years of publication, Re:Zero creator Tappei Nagatsuki has confirmed that the series is officially halfway done. While the news may come as a surprise to many, given the longevity of the hit isekai franchise, it is also a welcome sign that the adventures of Subaru and his friends won't be coming to an end any time soon.
Nagatsuki revealed the news in a post to his personal X account where he also confirmed the start of the series' tenth story arc. At the time of writing, three chapters of the new arc have been published.

While isekai is an often controversial genre, Re:Zero is one of the most respected isekai series of all time. With fantastic world-building, great characterization, and a compelling plot, Re:Zero is truly the genre at its absolute best.

Re:Zero protagonist Subaru dies constantly throughout the series and can essentially replay the moments leading up to his deaths, making Re:Zero one of the darkest isekai anime as fans watch the main hero die in increasingly gruesome ways.
The anime adaptation of the Re:Zero light novel began in 2016, and has been met with critical acclaim. Not only does the Re:Zero anime have an 8.1 on IMDB and an 8.24 on My Anime List, it has also been named the greatest isekai anime of all time by popular anime YouTuber Geoff Thew.

With the light novel hitting its halfway point and the anime recently wrapping up its third season in 2025, fans of Re:Zero are doing quite well.
The Re:Zero anime is also returning for a fourth season in April of 2026.
