He was known to combine his love of wildlife with a cheeky style.

And now rare footage of the late Steve Irwin has emerged in which the famed 'Crocodile Hunter' can be seen wearing a disguise as his alter-ego 'Glenn Glamour'.

Steve, who died at age 44 in 2006, is unrecognisable in the hilarious clip in which he can be seen wearing false teeth, a wig, dark 'speed dealer' sunglasses and a bucket hat.

At one point in the video Steve can be seen holding his daughter Bindi in his arms and telling onlookers, 'G'day'.

The clip was taken while actress Sigrid Thornton and her filmmaker husband Tom Burstall were given a tour of Irwin's Australia Zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast reported News on Monday.

At around this time Burstall was making The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course, which was released in 2002, with Irwin.

Thornton, 65, who is currently appearing on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, co-hosted by Steve's son Robert Irwin, is also seen in the video holding a koala.

According to the report, Thornton showed Robert, 21, and his sister Bindi Irwin, 26, the footage before she went into the jungle earlier this month.

Previously Robert had shared with fans the reason behind his father's ludicrous disguise.

He said that Steve would appear as 'Glenn Glamour' so he would not be recognised by the public while doing chores around Australia Zoo.

'He would put in false teeth, a wig, this ridiculous multi-coloured trench coat, the weirdest pants and really sketchy sneakers,' Robert explained in an interview with Stellar in 2022.

He continued: 'And that’s how he would get around the zoo and no-one would notice him because he was just wearing the most ridiculous thing.'

Steve died on September 4, 2006, at the age of 44 after being pierced in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.

Following his death, Steve's family, including daughter Bindi, widow Terri, 61, son Robert, and son-in-law Chandler Powell, 28, have continued his conservation work at Australia Zoo.

It was Steve's father, Bob, 83, who built the iconic Queensland zoo from the ground up in 1970 and passed it on to his late son and his wife Terri in 1992.

In his lifetime Steve promoted wildlife conservation with his own hit TV show, the Crocodile Hunter.

And his family have carried on his legacy with their own blockbuster wildlife reality series Crikey! It's the Irwins, which debuted in 2018 and can still be seen on the Animal Planet network.

It comes after Bindi Irwin recently published a book titled You Are a Wildlife Warrior!

A signed and 'authenticated' copy of the children's tome will set back fans a very reasonable $19.

Posting to her stories last week, Bindi shared highlights from a Q&A and to give followers a preview of the new book.

Including a gallery of photos in the share, Bindi began by telling her fans what to expect from her first published outing.

'This book takes you on a remarkable journey with me and my daughter Grace to experience our conservation work at Australia Zoo and worldwide!' she said.

Bindi also included a cute picture of herself and her three-year-old daughter on her knee reading the new book.

Elsewhere in the online chat with fans, Bindi revealed she had been 'working on the book' since Grace Warrior was born in March 2021.

She also told readers that her late father Steve Irwin, co-founder of Australia Zoo, makes an appearance in the publication.

'I do include my dad and our family,' she revealed.

'It is an honour to carry on his legacy together.'
