Prime Video Pirate Thriller Teases Karl Urban’s Return to Action in New Sneak Peek [Exclusive]

Fans of filmmaking brothers Joe Russo and Anthony Russo most likely know them from their work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But lately, they have been bringing audiences original action movies like Electric State, The Gray Man, and the Prime Video series Citadel. That has led to their latest adventure, The Bluff, for their production company AGBO. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the pirate-inspired action film stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas as a reformed pirate who must navigate her old captain (Karl Urban) coming back into her life. Today, Collider is delighted to share an exclusive sneak peek from the film.

The Bluff is described as follows: "Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) thought she had escaped her violent past as a pirate, finding peace in the Cayman Islands with her loving husband T.H. (Ismael Cruz Cordova), their son Isaac (Vedanten Naidoo), and her sister-in-law Elizabeth (Safia Oakley-Green). But when her notorious former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), arrives seeking revenge, Ercell’s world is torn apart. Forced to confront the demons she’s tried to bury, Ercell is thrust back into a deadly game of secrets and survival. Armed with lethal swordsmanship, cunning traps, and a fierce will to protect those she loves, she wages a brutal war against Connor’s merciless crew. Ercell’s fight to save her family becomes a journey of redemption, as she reclaims her power and embraces the warrior she once was."

Karl Urban Became a Household Name With a Fun Action Role

Fans of Urban know him from a lot of different things, including the MCU. But he shot to superstardom playing Leonard McCoy in JJ Abrams' 2009 take on Star Trek. His role as Bones was a perfect blend of honoring what DeForest Kelley did before him while taking on the tone that Abrams was bringing to the franchise, which has painted his entire career as an action star. He always matches the energy the movie is bringing to audiences, and that makes The Bluff such an exciting new watch for Urban fans!
