Leo Woodall is plunging headfirst into a spy series that’s like “Good Will Hunting” meets “Mission: Impossible.”
Woodall, who previously starred in “One Day” and “The White Lotus,” leads Apple TV+ series “Prime Target” as a mathematician who becomes wrapped up in a government conspiracy.
The official synopsis reads: “Brilliant young math postgraduate Edward Brooks (Woodall) is on the verge of a major breakthrough. If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world. Soon he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent (Quintessa Swindell) who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians’ behavior. Together they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of.”
Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell also star.
The eight episode series is produced by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions and New Regency.
“Prime Target” is created and executive produced by award-winning writer Steve Thompson (“Sherlock,” “Vienna Blood”).
Woodall will also have major big screen role in “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy,” which is the fourth franchise installment in the beloved novel adaptation series.
