After months of waiting, fans are finally able to play Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, and some lucky enthusiasts are stunned to learn that the app contains some of the rarest packs possible. In the world of the Pokémon TCG, very few players have ever experienced the seemingly impossible magic of a "god pack." These card packs are known as the most sought-after since they only contain rare cards but the odds of getting one are minuscule; They're also impossible to specifically purchase since a god pack can only be identified after it's been opened.

Posting to X (formerly Twitter), some Pokémon TCG Pocket players have learned that the compact iteration of the card game includes god packs: User SauceMcGavin shared an incredible pack that contained a Golden Pikachu ex, a Full Art Electrode, a Zapdos ex, a Wigglytuff ex, and a Full Art Nidoqueen.

If that wasn't enough to convince the community that god packs exist, user luckyghoulx further stunned everyone with a pack that contained a Marowak ex, a Full Art Ditto, a Mewtwo ex, a Golbat ex, and a Full Art Koga. Whether god packs have specifically been coded into the game remains unknown.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Is Impressing Everyone

Unsurprisingly, Opening Packs Is Great Fun

Acting as a condensed version of the Pokémon TCG, Pocket cuts down players' decks from 60 cards to 20, significantly speeding up matches while retaining gameplay and mechanics tabletop fans will undoubtedly recognize. While the cards themselves may look familiar, they're all exclusive to Pocket to ensure a decent balance and flow that works better with digital devices. The game has only been available for a day but it's already generating a great deal of hype from fans who've been intimidated by the Pokémon TCG.

Opening card packs is a big draw for Pokémon TCG Pocket as the game is constantly rewarding new players with items that reduce the amount of time until their next opening. Within an hour, most users should gain enough cards to develop a decent deck that can stand against other beginners. It's an addictive loop, made better by the fact that the Pokémon TCG mechanics work as well on a phone as they do on a table.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Is My New Obsession

I Can't Stop Playing

Pokemon TCG Pocket starter booster decks

I downloaded Pokémon TCG Pocket the night it launched it's been difficult to pull myself away from the game. The shorter matches and addictive lure of new cards are incredibly addictive and as someone who adores card games but never had the patience for the Pokémon TCG, this format is a blessing. I haven't yet found a god pack, but I live in hope that one will eventually find its way to me.
