After months of leaks and rumors, Pokémon Wind and Waves was finally officially unveiled last month alongside a 2027 release window. As the first entry in Pokémon's Gen 10, Pokémon Wind and Waves is expected to be the most ambitious installment yet, with Game Freak hoping to rectify the mistakes made in some of its less popular titles, as well as offering fans a vast open world spanning across multiple islands. However, there is one thing that fans are hoping for when it comes to one of the most iconic Pokémon variants.

Two Eevee from Pokemon playing Game Freak

Despite Eevee being one of the most popular additions to the Pokédex, it has been a whopping 13 years since they received their last evolution. Transforming into Sylveon in Pokémon X and Y, the Fairy-type joined the list of other Eevee evolutions, including Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. However, in recent years, it seems as though Eevee has been left in the dust when it comes to evolutions, much to fans' dismay.

However, with the arrival of Pokémon Wind and Waves in 2027, it could bring with it another long-awaited Eevee evolution, and according to fans over on r/pokemon, it could be a Flying-type. "Who else wants a flying Eevee for Wind and Waves?" One user asked recently, alongside concept art of the potential evolution. The concept art looks very cool, if I do say so myself, with their standard big ears, but their head, tail, and paws coated in what looks like ice. Titled 'Leveon', this exciting evolution could be joining the roster.

This Flying-Type Eevee Is Absolutely Stunning

A wild Eevee begins to dance.

As the first evolution in over a decade, Eevee's next transformation will need to be worth it, and it seems as though fans are hoping that this concept art could become the real thing with the arrival of Pokémon Wind and Waves. "I would like any Eeveelution at all, it's been 13 years," the top comment over on Reddit read which sums up the situation perfectly. However, according to user GoldenPlaydoh, fans could have received a flying Eevee a long time ago. "They did consider a flying Eevee at some point, but it got scrapped for being too similar to a fan design, and it was too expensive to redesign," they shared. "So who knows if they’ll ever give it another shot."

With others suggesting that a Flying-type would make sense for a game with 'winds' in the title, this Eeveelution could indeed come true, but unfortunately, we still have a while until we find out.
