The Pokémon 30th anniversary celebrations have been in full swing for quite some time, and The Pokémon Company shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. From massive collaborations to new merchandise and video game updates, there have been so many releases and announcements made to celebrate the legendary series. Many of these projects and products have focused on the newer titles, whether that's updates to games like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet or even the announcement of the next mainline title in the series.

However, there have been a few releases, including brand-new Pokémon LEGO sets, for example, that have focused on the older titles. Of course, these games absolutely deserve the same type of attention, and The Pokémon Company hasn't shied away from sending a little love their way. The latest Pokémon 30th anniversary collection is one such release, as it is completely targeted towards fans of the retro games, especially Red and Blue.

There have been a handful of releases for the Pokémon 30th anniversary event that have focused on some of the earlier generations and regions. We've had brand-new Pokémon Gold and Silver releases, products centered around Ruby and Sapphire, and even a few that focus on the very first set of games, Pokémon Red and Blue. The latest collection is based around the latter, as The Pokémon Company and clothing brand Uniqlo have joined forces to release a line of Pokémon Red and Blue-themed T-shirts for the 30th anniversary celebrations.

The new set of T-shirts focuses on just a handful of Pokémon, with Gengar, Mewtwo, and Pikachu getting their own tees, for example, while another top groups together each of the eight gym leader's main Pokémon and their respective levels on the same top. The tops use the original sprite art, which helps keep the old-school aesthetic, and ultimately further skews its target audience toward being those fond memories of those earlier games, who want to represent their favorite classic Pokémon in T-shirt form.

This isn't the first time the Pokémon 30th anniversary event has returned to Kanto, but it may be one of the more interesting product lines. Uniqlo has done a lot of these kinds of collaborations, including with Pokémon (most recently it released a line of customizable Pokopia tops), so fans know exactly what to expect from these designs and the clothing itself. There are plenty of design choices to choose from, with Uniqlo highlighting a few of them in a teaser made for the collection, so fans of the games should feel very well catered to.

The set is scheduled to release in July 2026, so fans shouldn't have long to wait before they can get their hands on these T-shirts. Hopefully, Uniqlo or a similar brand will release clothing ranges for the other generations too, as fans would absolutely love to see the other games and regions well represented in clothing form. However, it is still great to see these retro designs pop up, especially for fans who still fondly remember the old days of Pokémon.
