PlayStation Plus Reveals New Free Games For September 2026

PlayStation Plus has revealed its Essential games for September 2026. While these titles are free to anyone who's subscribed to PS Plus, the new arrivals also mean a number of games are leaving in September. The good news is that these new games should make up for what's going away once the calendar rolls over next Tuesday.

The news comes via the official PlayStation Blog, which has confirmed the following games for PlayStation Plus' Essential tier for September 2026:

Sniper Elite: Resistance
MLB The Show 26
Wobbly Life
Chained Echoes

That's right — we're getting four games again this month. It's always nice getting a little something extra, and this month's offerings include games for both PS4 and PS5, as well as a PS5 exclusive and an RPG that's only on PS4.

When PS Plus Games Reset For September

The new games will be available starting on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Of course, that also means it's your last chance to download August's Essential games to your library, which include Dying Light 2, Big Walk, and Signalis. These games won't be available on the Essential tier after Monday, August 31.

September 2026 PS Plus Essential Games Are Here

Sniper Elite: Resistance is a third-person tactical and stealth combat game that's available for both PS4 and PS5 users with PlayStation Plus. MLB The Show 26 is only on PS5, and with the current baseball regular season winding down next month, it's a nice time to dive in and bring your team to the World Series.

Wobbly Life can be played solo or in co-op with up to three other people. It's on both PS4 and PS5, and comes with various modes to check out. And last but not least is Chained Echoes, a great turn-based RPG with retro graphics. I reviewed Chained Echoes back in 2022 and adored it, so if you only give one of these a shot, that's definitely the one I'd recommend. It's only available as a PS4 game, though.

Remember that you have about a week left to claim August's games before the reset arrives on Tuesday. Overall, these four games coming to PlayStation Plus have good variety, and there should be a little bit of something for everyone here.
