Ewan is Deputy Editor for ScreenRant's gaming section. He still quite hasn’t gotten out of his mid 00’s emo phase, and knows more about The Legend of Zelda and Doctor Who than is probably healthy.
Ewan oversees the content operation of ScreenRant's gaming output, working with a talented team of writers and editors to cover everything from the latest GTA 6 news to the indie games you need on your radar.
Former Editor of GAMINGbible, Ewan also has words at Kotaku, Den of Geek, NME, and UNILAD. He's appeared on various podcasts, including VGC's and BBC's Let's Talk About Tech.
PlayStation Plus Extra free games for February 2026 and March 2026 have been officially announced, and it's a good crop of games to see us through. The headline game is, of course, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but the Insomniac Games superhero adventure is just the tip of the iceberg.
Officially announced during PlayStation's new State Of Play presentation, PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can get their hands on no less than X games. While the first batch of free games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers didn't go down brilliantly, there's definitely a little something for everyone here.
PlayStation Plus First Free Game For March Confirmed
Tekken: Dark Resurrection will officially be joining the PlayStation Plus Extra lineup in March. Originally released in 2005 for the PSP, this is a definite surprise, but it's good to know PlayStation remains committed to unexpected classics. The first free game for May has also been confirmed, which is unusual. May 2026 will see the original Time Crisis come to PlayStation Plus, while the upcoming Big Walk will also join PS Plus Extra in 2026 (release date TBC).
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Leads The Charge For February
He does whatever a spider can, you know
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the obvious showstopper, and who could argue? If you haven't had a chance to play this PlayStation 5 exclusive yet, it's a fantastic sequel to 2018's Spidey game, and clearly far from the final chapter in the story. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 lands on February 16.
In our review of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 back in 2023, we said the game takes the franchise to new heights, combining gameplay and storytelling to create an epic superhero fantasy.
"Spider-Man 2 only reinforces the notion that Insomniac Games is one of PlayStation Studios’ more prolific development houses. The balance of gameplay and narrative is intoxicating, and this third entry squashes any issues that plagued the first two games. These iterations of Peter Parker and Miles Morales are triumphantly human, as are the other characters surrounding them, and the genius of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 lies in introducing a villain that hopes to strip them of that humanity."
Other games this month include Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, which is a divisive open-world racing game that shares a few things in common with the Forza Horizon series, and Neva, a gorgeous indie game that everybody should play.
The full list of free games for February is:
