James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.

It's that exciting time of the month where PlayStation Plus subscribers get confirmation of exactly what games they will be getting their hands on, and March has already made a very encouraging start.

Regardless of what tier you pay for, Sony has confirmed four titles that you'll be able to download and keep forever, if you grab them before they go away forever on April 6. Golf fans can get their hands on PGA Tour 2K25, while the headline act for many will likely be 2021 action-RPG Monster Hunter Rise.

Rounding out the games for the month from the Essentials tier upwards are The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road, which grants access to all major Chapter zones, biomes and quest arcs across Tamriel in Zenimax's MMO, and Slime Rancher 2. We are not totally done for the month though, and there could be a couple of very exciting releases on the way at the Extra and Premium tiers.

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post from Twitter/X which suggests that Extra and Premium subscribers could be getting Final Fantasy XVI and Dragon's Dogma 2 in the monthly games for March.

Both are very good RPGs and represent a ton of value for those who are already signed up. Though we obviously have to take the revelation with a pinch of salt until Sony officially confirms it, it's safe to say that the responses were excited about that combo coming to fruition.

"As a returning PlayStation player, I'm currently eating too well. Beat Spider-Man Remastered, I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima right now, and have God of War next. I have been wanting to play both of these," one comment read.

"I will re-sub for this... Played and platinumed FF16, but to add to my library the digital edition to play later, and a first play at DD2... I’m all over this. This, IMO would be the best month in several years," another added.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Is One Of The Best Games Of 2024

If you haven't played it yet, Dragon's Dogma 2 really was one of the standout RPGs of the last few years, and comfortably one of the best games of 2024 overall. It's a very impressive evolution on the original, whilst retaining the charm and core mechanics that made that game so popular in the first place.

If both DD2 and FFXVI arrive in the same month on PlayStation Plus, it will undoubtedly be remembered as an all-timer, so let's hope Sony pulls through and delivers for their subscribers.
