More than a year before he was arrested on allegations of attacking a cop, the foster son of Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond faced similar accusations of assaulting an officer.

Jamar Goff allegedly bit the hand of a detention or correctional officer in May 2025, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Goff, 23, said he was homeless and had recently taken up employment at McDonald's at the time of the incident.

In the court paperwork, Goff wrote down a cell phone number which appeared to be linked to Drummond as his family contact, according to the publication. Her name was not written but he identified the contact as 'foster parent.'

Ree Drummond, 57, and her husband Ladd Drummond, also 57, became Goff's foster parents in 2018.

The Daily Mail has contacted Drummond for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Goff faced a run-in with the law earlier this month when he was arrested over allegations he attacked a police officer, and drug possession.

He was taken into custody on September 15 at Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama at around 2:30 a.m., according to jail records reviewed by The Daily Mail.

Goff was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance; possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia; attempting to elude a police officer and aggravated assault on a police officer.

Goff's bond amount had been set at $37,000, according to jail records.

In the incident, police said they responded to the University of Alabama at Birmingham after receiving a report of a suspicious person, according to legal documents reviewed by TMZ.

Goff was seen shirtless and asleep by a fountain by a responding officer, according to the report.

The officer inquired with Goff why he was there, and said Goff told him he had been waiting for a person to sell 'ice' - a slang name for methamphetamine - to him.

Goff was initially told to vacate the area by the officer, the report stated, adding that the officer subsequently discovered Goff had an arrest warrant, the outlet reported.

The officer subsequently found Goff and tried to handcuff him, at which point Goff fled the scene by foot, stopping at a nearby medical facility.

When confronted by the officer, the report stated, Goff struck him with 'an open-handed palm strike.'

A subsequent search through Goff's backpack turned up a glass pipe, authorities said in the report, and Goff had been holding 1.8 grams of methamphetamine when searched by officers.

Officials said in legal documents that Goff was currently homeless.

Drummond, known best as The Pioneer Woman, has a lifestyle empire which consists of her blog, cookbooks, and hit Food Network cooking show.

She lives with her family on a sprawling cattle ranch near Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They are also the largest land-owning family in Osage County.

Nearly three years ago, the Food Network personality took to Instagram to wish Goff a happy birthday after he turned 21.

Ree and Ladd have been married for 30 years

'With Jamar, there’s a whole universe going on in that mind and heart and soul of his,' she said at the time. 'It’s a beautiful thing to behold.'

She continued, 'What will Jamar be doing in five years, I often imagine, as I do with all my kids. Where will he be in ten years, in twenty? I can’t wait to watch his future unfold. I know it will be filled with good things. I love you, Jamar!!'

Drummond, who has four other children with her spouse, spoke about her son Jamar on her popular blog in a November 2020 post.

'I’ve never wanted to subject Jamar to more attention than he wanted or needed before he had a chance to settle in and get his bearings in our home,' Drummond said at the time. 'We needed to let things breathe.'

She subsequently called him 'an inextricable part of our wacky family.'
