Pia Whitesell sports an unusually budget Aussie fashion accessory during trip Down Under with her multi-millionaire husband Patrick after moving into his $57million LA mansion

Pia Whitesell proved not everything has to be designer as she sported a very budget fashion item during a New Year's Day cruise around Sydney Harbour.

The former Home and Away star, 40, now lives in Los Angeles but returned to Australia to ring in the New Year with her multi-millionaire husband Patrick Whitesell.

And on Wednesday, the couple were seen celebrating the first day of 2025 in style as they set sail on a lavish boat trip with a group of friends.

Pia showed off her incredible figure in a vibrant green two-piece, which she styled with a multicoloured sarong.

She also proved she hasn't forgotten her roots as she sported a very Australian fashion accessory - a large straw hat from Bunnings Warehouse.

The $6.90 hat, which features a green band with the Bunnings logo on it, was an unusually budget item compared to her typically high-end designer wardrobe.

Pia's husband, Hollywood agent Patrick, 59, was also spotted wearing the iconic fashion item during the cruise as he chatted with their friends.

They are not the first celebrities to sport the Aussie accessory as Harry Styles famously wore the hat on stage during his Love On Tour shows Down Under last year.

Rose Byrne and Post Malone have also been spotted sporting the budget hat as it has proved to be a world-famous item even with global megastars. 

Pia has shown a passion for Aussie fashion items during her most recent trip back to her native country as she wore another themed hat earlier this week.

Sharing an insight into her New Year's Eve celebrations, Pia took to Instagram to share a picture of herself wearing iconic Australian cork hat to help ward off the flies.

Captioning the photo, Pia revealed that it was a gift from former Home and Away producer and current Head of Drama at Seven Julia McGauran.

Pia has been joined Down Under by her husband Patrick and her sons Isaiah, 20, and Lennox, 16, who she welcomed during two previous relationships.

They all rang in the New Year on a luxury yacht as she splashed out on the prime position to watch the world-famous Sydney Harbour firework display.

For the evening, Pia dressed to the nines to ring in 2025 as she put on a very glamorous display in a sparkling silver mini dress. 

Other photographs from the night showed Pia beaming from ear-to-ear as she posed with Patrick and her beloved sons.

Pia was only 19 years old when she fell pregnant with eldest son Isaiah, whom she shares with her former boyfriend.

She later welcomed her younger son Lennox with her ex Brad Miller.

Pia moved to the United States after she married Patrick in a secret ceremony in May 2021, and her two sons accompanied her to set up a new life in Los Angeles. 

They have fully immersed themselves in American way of life, with Lennox joining a football team at his high school while Isaiah is attending college.

Since moving to the US, Pia and Patrick have set up their forever home in a huge AUD$57million Tuscan-style estate in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, which Patrick owns.

The property features a resort-style swimming pool, a driveway lined with olive trees, and even its own maids' quarters for staff. 

The mansion has a luxurious but cosy feel inside, featuring ornate high ceilings, fireplaces throughout as well as a dramatic foyer.

There's also a gourmet kitchen, a library and home theatre, in addition to a smaller guest house on the grounds.

It spans more than 19,000 sq ft, sits on 1.35 acres of land and features a top-of-the-range security system and gated driveway, with privacy guaranteed because it cannot be seen from the street.

Holmby Hills is one of LA's most exclusive neighbourhoods and their home is close to the AUD$220million mansion built for the late TV executive Aaron Spelling and his widow, Candy Spelling.

Also nearby is the infamous Playboy Mansion once owned by the late Hugh Hefner.

Pia and Patrick gave their home a makeover before moving in, with extensive renovations taking place while they lived in an oceanfront property in Malibu.

Pia often gives fans a glimpse inside the palatial paradise on her Instagram page, sharing an array of stunning photographs of their family home. 

Patrick is the executive chairman of Endeavor talent agency and is widely considered one of the most influential men in movies.

He has an estimated net worth of AUD$630million and boasts a client list including Ben Affleck, Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. 

Pia is a Chilean-born actress and model who famously starred as Katarina Chapman in Home and Away.

The couple started dating after Patrick's ex-wife Lauren Sanchez left him for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 58, the world's richest man, in one of the biggest scandals of 2019.

Patrick was the one who introduced Lauren to Jeff in 2016, and she left him for the multi-billionaire e-commerce entrepreneur in May 2019.

Patrick and Lauren, who share 15-year-old son Evan and 14-year-old daughter Eleanor Patricia, finalised their divorce in October 2019.
