Perez Hilton's Family Confirms He's "Receiving Medical Care" Following Hospitalization
Chris Booker is sending his support to Perez Hilton.
After the celebrity gossip blogger (real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.) was hospitalized as a result of a concerning TikTok livestream in which he appeared to engage in self-harm, the radio personality—who cohosts the Perez Hilton Podcast With Chris Booker alongside Hilton—shared some thoughts.
“I am so profoundly sad for Perez and his family and what they’re all going through,” Booker wrote in a statement shared to Instagram Threads Aug. 5. “It’s truly unimaginable.”
The 55-year-old noted he spoke “only briefly” to Hilton’s family, and emphasized their desire for privacy.
“I read the statement that his team released and want to honor their wishes at this impossible time,” Booker continued. “Even the family is struggling to get updates due to the confidential security measures in place at the hospital because of how many people are trying to get information.”
Meanwhile, he addressed the future of the show he cohosts with Hilton, which typically runs every Tuesday. (The most recent episode dropped Aug. 4, the same day Hilton was hospitalized.)
“It’s all TBD at the moment as our collective focus is on his health,” Booker noted. “I certainly hope to continue them with my friend when the time is appropriate. I will give updates there when the time is right. We’ve done these shows for over a decade now and the support from our listeners has been resounding.”
Of course, The Booker Show alum highlighted his focus on Hilton’s wellbeing.
“He is very loved,” Booker added. “I can only hope he feels it. Heal up friend.”
Booker’s statement comes shortly after Hilton’s agent Dante Rusciolelli shared an update on his client.

“At this time, we do not have any additional confirmed information to share regarding Perez Hilton’s condition,” Rusciolelli said in an Aug. 5 statement. “Our focus remains on Perez’s health, recovery and the privacy of both him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement to E! News that on Aug. 4 they responded to multiple calls regarding an incident regarding an individual, later confirmed to be Hilton, and “quickly located the individual’s residence, where they spoke with family members on scene, and confirmed he was alone inside.”
Miami authorities also confirmed they had connected to Hilton’s family—he is the dad of three young kids—and provided support and resources.
Hilton’s family has also addressed his hospitalization in their own statement to his website, reiterating their need for privacy during the extremely difficult time.
“Thank you for your compassion,” the family wrote, “understanding, and continued support."
