Penelope stars as Piña in the 2026 sex comedy-drama The Invite. Directed by Olivia Wilde, the film follows an uptight couple, Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Olivia), whose marriage is on thin ice.
The couple extend a dinner invitation to their charismatic and sexually uninhibited upstairs neighbours, Piña (Penelope) and Hawk (Edward Norton).
It has been a busy few weeks for the actress who headed from Venice Film Festival, straight to Toronto.

She's then promoted two movies that premiered at Cannes: the Spanish epic La Bola Negra, directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, and Florian Zeller's Bunker.
Penelope has a supporting role in the Spanish language film, whose title translates to The Black Ball.
The actress broke down in tears as her new movie Bunker received the longest standing ovation so far of the 2026 Venice Film Festival.
After watching the film, the audience rose to their feet for a 15-and-a-half-minute standing ovation.
The lengthy response to Bunker is just two minutes shy of the longest standing ovation in recent Venice Film Festival history – a 17-minute applause for The Room Next Door in 2024.
Bunker marks the ninth time Penelope and husband Javier Bardem have collaborated on screen and the movie is already receiving rave reviews, including a four-star write up from the Daily Mail's Brian Viner.
The psychological thriller sees the pair play married couple Sofia and Miguel.
Architect Miguel's 17-year marriage comes under strain after he accepts a morally ambiguous project to build a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire (Paul Dano).
Meanwhile, Sofia begins working with an American novelist, Jeremy Gray (Patrick Schwarzenegger).

The 2001 psychological film served as the definitive Hollywood breakthrough for Naomi.
She added: 'He really just changed my life. He gave me a different understanding of what it meant to act, to trust instinct, to embrace uncertainty, and to not be afraid of the strange or the unexplained.
'But more than that, he believed in something in me before I fully believed in myself, and that is a gift that you never forget. So tonight, I do really feel like this award is very much about David.'
