2026 is a big year for Pedro Pascal ahead of appearances across multiple major film franchises. Pedro Pascal has been landing credits in TV and film since 1996, but it's only really the last couple of years that his career has transformed to the point that he is popping up in numerous Hollywood films alongside other significant projects on TV.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Is A Major Milestone For Pedro Pascal

While Pedro Pascal has landed leading roles on TV before, with Narcos, The Mandalorian, and The Last of Us being among the most notable, almost all of his big-screen credits have seen Pascal take on more minor roles or share the spotlight with an ensemble cast. For instance, despite landing a notable role in Gladiator II and Wonder Woman 1984, Pascal's role was not a central one.

In Materialists and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pascal has taken on a leading role, but he has been joined by other major names as part of a larger leading cast. But his upcoming leading role in The Mandalorian & Grogu marks the first time that Pascal is really getting to flex as the leading man, albeit alongside a tiny green CGI alien.

And following the overwhelmingly positive reception to Pascal's role as Mister Fantastic in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it appears the actor has found a strong niche in sci-fi, which makes The Mandalorian & Grogu all the more exciting.

A few months after The Mandalorian & Grogu arrives in theaters in May, Pascal returns to the big screen for what is arguably the biggest cinematic spectacle of 2026 with Avengers: Doomsday. There, he will reprise his role as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, along with an extraordinary cast of icons and legends from the MCU and the rest of Marvel cinema.

While this film will also see Pascal among a large ensemble cast, his role is expected to be central to the story, especially since the character from the comics is positioned as the pivotal rival to Doctor Doom, for whom the film is named. This will also provide the foundation for Pascal to perform opposite Robert Downey Jr., who previously played Iron Man in the MCU before being recast as the ultimate villain.

Between these two movies, Pedro Pascal is set to have a huge year, both in terms of the box office of his films and the popularity among major fanbases who are already launching his stardom to new heights.

While it took some years for Pascal to gain a foothold in Hollywood, he is now on a hot streak that shows no signs of slowing down. And beyond that, he appears to be dominating both on the big and small screens as he tackles roles that have stood out as extremely powerful in both formats.

While 2026 appears to be a year when Pascal has focused his efforts on major franchises and big blockbuster releases, there are many more projects in the pipeline for the actor, with only a handful announced publicly. Evidently, Pascal has no intention of slowing down, which means his schedule may be packed between major franchise roles and smaller TV and film parts.

Regardless, it's exciting to see Pedro Pascal getting the recognition he so richly deserves. He's worked hard to climb to the top of the call sheet, and his performances have proven him to be an incredibly capable and compelling performer who always delivers stellar performances.
