The return of Pedro Pascal in the titular role of Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and Grogu has been confirmed, easing viewers' long-running worries about the beloved actor. Pascal, who has been portraying Din Djarin ever since Star Wars' The Mandalorian first began, has become a notoriously busy actor following his skyrocket to fame in the aftermath of The Mandalorian and HBO's The Last of Us, in which he plays Joel Miller. Given his current busy schedule filming The Fantastic Four: First Steps in the role of Reed Richards, some feared he wouldn't return to his Star Wars role.

This, however, will not be the case, as Lucasfilm has confirmed at D23 Brasil that Pedro Pascal will indeed return to play Din Djarin once again in The Mandalorian and Grogu. This was announced alongside the official casting of Sigourney Weaver, who is portraying a currently unknown role in Star Wars' next movie. While it shouldn't be a big surprise that Pascal is going to continue playing this iconic role, it's certainly a relief for those who were uncertain about scheduling conflicts and more that seemed to stand in his way.

What Pedro Pascal's Return Means For Star Wars

He's Forever Committed To This Role

Pascal remaining in the role of Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and Grogu proves that he's ready to continue playing this Star Wars character for as long as he possibly can. This is something he's already stated during press for The Mandalorian season 3 in 2023, but it's certainly a nice sentiment to see carried out through action. While the exact details of Pascal's involvement are currently unknown, considering the fact that both The Fantastic Four and The Mandalorian and Grogu are in production simultaneously, it's clear that he will continue to portray this beloved character.

Our Take: Pascal's Return As Din Djarin Shouldn't Be A Surprise

It's Time To Stop This Cyclic Pattern Of Questioning

 The Mandalorian

Hilariously, this seems to be a cyclic pattern with each new installment added to The Mandalorian franchise, in that the question of Pascal's return as Din Djarin is always raised - urging Lucasfilm to come out with official confirmation, which is then met with audience enthusiasm. This has been happening ever since The Mandalorian season 2's release, and it sadly doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon, despite Pascal's best efforts to prove that he's still involved. The actor has even repeatedly posted on social media stories about this movie, most recently regarding Sigourney Weaver's casting.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is the next Star Wars movie to hit theaters, the franchise's first since 2019. Here are its entire cast and characters so far.

This ought to be the last time that Pascal's return as Din Djarin is a surprise for viewers, as this is now the third time it's been confirmed. Even if Pascal can only contribute his voice, he always returns as Din Djarin, as was the case for most of The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 3. It's hard to imagine that the actor would not want to return for his own character's movie, especially since it's a Star Wars movie. Pascal will hopefully have more of a role in The Mandalorian and Grogu, though this is left to be seen.
