Patsy Kensit has admitted that she's been 'really hurt by people in the past' as she opened up about life and love in a new interview.

The actress, 58, also made rare comments about her marriage - and cancelled wedding - to Oasis' Liam Gallagher.

After starting out in showbiz at the age of four, Pasty has been engaged five times and married four before last year being diagnosed with PTSD.

She said: 'I have been really hurt by people over the years, I'm not made of Teflon, and so I choose to protect myself. I don't need to be around people to feel okay'.

After marrying singer Dan Donovan at the age of 22 and later Simple Minds front man Jim Kerr, Patsy's third marriage to Liam saw her became one of the face of 90s Britpop.

However despite their wild partying personas making the front pages, Patsy said the couple, who were wed from 1997 until 2000 and are parents to son Lennon, 26, would spend most evenings at home watching TV and eating spaghetti hoops.

She told: The Telegraph: 'There were a few pictures taken of me in the 1990s, looking upset, or kicking a car door in [following an infamous row with Liam], I think the press had established this fragile, needy person, this image of someone who was almost everything I wasn't'.

The week of their wedding Channel 4's Big Breakfast turned up to broadcast from outside the couple's home.

Patsy and Liam were forced to cancel their big day before eventually tying the knot in a secret 7am ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall.

Patsy, who also shares son James, 32, with ex Jim Kerr, previously revealed she had not seen Liam for 26-years.

'You don't have to marry all of your boyfriends,' she told The Mirror in 2024. 'My goals always been that my sons had a really good relationship with their fathers.

'For me. I haven't spoken or had contact with those men. I am very supportive of their relationships with their fathers, but I don't have one. I like it that way.'

Meanwhile also Patsy admitted that she had kept her love affair with Terence Stamp secret for 35 years because she didn't want to 'hurt' anyone.

The actress recently revealed she had a secret fling with the Superman actor - who was 30 years her senior - in the early 1990s after they worked together on 1991 thriller Prince of Shadows with Patsy calling Terence a 'total gentleman' as well as 'an amazing and generous lover'.

Now Patsy has explained she didn't feel ready to talk about the brief romance until after the actor's death in 2025 at the age of 87.

She previously opened up about the relationship in a candid interview with The Sun on Sunday newspaper, saying: 'We were star-crossed lovers and he was a total gentleman.

'Even though there was an age gap, we had a strong bond. He was an amazing and generous lover ... He was probably the most beautiful man I'd ever seen.'

Patsy ended their relationship when she left the UK to shoot Timebomb in 1991, describing herself as 'young and stupid'.

She revealed last year that she'd has been diagnosed with PTSD as she got candid about having 'a bad day' and admitted feeling 'mislead and hurt'.

Taking to Instagram with a photo of a sad face emoji, writing in the caption that she had been struggling after 'a hard day'.

'Today has been a hard day. Today I feel mislead and hurt. I was diagnosed with PTSD at the end of last year and really turned a major corner and was feeling great.

'I don’t feel great today. I feel grateful but sad. Anyone who has dealt with mental health issues and depression will understand and know that you are not alone….

'When I’m working I feel none of the above.. I’ve just finished filming. I will meditate and try and raise my frequency to bring positivity back into my life. Today is just a bad day.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's caused by an extremely stressful or terrifying event — either being part of it or witnessing it.

Patsy said she's given up on hopes of finding a man after being married four times and is now content to 'fill the hole in her soul' alone.

The actress called off her engagement to property tycoon fiancé Patric Cassidy in 2024, where he was said to have popped the question just weeks after their first date.

She told Hello!: 'I wouldn't want a relationship, I am not interested. I do believe in love. But for me it's not something I need, I have been on my own a long time and I like my own company.  Now, it's just adjusting my life to fill the hole that's in my soul.'
