Days before Patrick Muldoon died of a heart attack at age 57, the Melrose Place actor teased a new film, in which he served as executive producer, starring Chris Hemsworth and Alec Baldwin.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Actor Patrick Muldoon Dead at 57
Patrick Muldoon was looking forward to a new chapter.
Two days before the Days of Our Lives alum died at age 57, he shared insight into an upcoming crime film in which he served as an executive producer.
"So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH," Patrick captioned his April 17 Instagram announcement, "directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazzie Beetz and Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia."
The film is an adaptation of William Lashner's novel of the same name, in which a cockroach transforms a human and ultimately becomes a major crime boss in New York City.
Along with the principal photography for Kockroach beginning earlier this month, he was awaiting the digital release of his film Dirty Hands on April 24, in which he starred alongside Denise Richards.
Patrick died on April 17, his manager confirmed to Variety. His sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa told TMZ that he had a heart attack while taking a shower in his Beverly Hills home. She said that his girlfriend Miriam Rothbart found him unconscious on the bathroom floor.
Following the Melrose Place actor's unexpected death, his loved ones and former costars shared loving tributes.
Shana shared a video of herself and her older brother singing on her Instagram Stories, writing, "I love you forever my Boo."
Meanwhile, Alison Sweeney—who played Samantha Brady on Days of Our Lives opposite his Austin Reed—reflected on her friend and his legacy.
"Pat was a rare kind of person—brilliantly talented, endlessly kind, and generous in spirit," she wrote on X April 20. "I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days. He made me feel at ease right away. He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed."
His Days family continued sending love, with Lisa Rinna—who portrayed his onscreen sister Billie Reed—sharing a throwback photo of the pair on her Instagram Stories, with a broken-heart emoji.
